Samantha Who? Again Leads New Shows, Oct 22-28

Samantha Who? Head and Shoulders Above New Shows

Christina Applegate ABC’s Samantha Who? with a Live+SD viewership of 13.68 million again topped all new shows for the week of October 22-28. Private Practice was very strong, maintaining its Live+SD viewership of 11.91 million.

On the other end of the spectrum, CW’s Reaper and Fox’s Next Great American Band lost 20% of their viewers from the previous week.

Top Broadcast TV Show Websites Oct 27, 2007

Second LifeDancing with the Stars is still on top, followed by Deal or No Deal and HeroesCSI:NY makes its first appearance on the list at #4, which Matt Tatham of Hitwise suggests was due to the show involving virtual world Second Life.  I’d suggest it’s not necessarily because they used SL in the show, but rather CSI: NY now has a virtual community in SL and huge real estate on the SL home page that links back to CBS’ web site.  Still, CSI: NY has almost twice the market share of Gossip Girl

It’s heartening after all these years that over 11 million still will turn into watch It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown - still sporting one of my favorite lines in the entire history of television, “I got a rock.”

House, which I’ve watched about 35 episodes of in the last week is killing in the youth demo. CBS has way more viewers than NBC, but for the night, they tied in the 18-49 demo, and that’s with NBC airing a rerun of Law & Order: SVU (a Gorman favorite) allowing Boston Legal (another Seidman favorite) to capture a rare timeslot win. Dirty Sexy Money: Renew or Cancel?

UPDATE: ABC has announced that Dirty Sexy Money will Return in Fall 2008

I always thought the can’t miss formula was Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll. Instead, ABC tries the similar forumula of Sex and Money and Scandal with Dirty Sexy Money at 10PM Eastern Wednesday.
