The November sweeps are officially over and the repeats rained down on us, but we better get used to it! CBS won the night both in viewers and the 18-49 demographic and although NBC was #4 in viewers, it captured second in the demo. ER even captured a demo win in the 10pm slot. On to the shows:

UPDATE: NBC has cancelled Journeyman. It will not return.

NBC’s Journeyman, Monday 10PM Eastern, was thought to be the successor to the Quantum Leap ['89-'93] franchise for time traveling.
It’s got a great location [San Francisco, personal bias alert], a good actor [Kevin McKidd, Lucius Vorenus of HBO's Rome, more personal bias], but could it catch the same Quantum Leap spark?
With our own chance to jump into the future we ask: Renew or Cancel?

Producers Make New Proposal, Writers React Negatively
Our latest (11/26) Show By Show Strike Status is here.
The AMPTP made a new proposal yesterday and the writers reacted negatively. More unofficial reaction here and here. Talks are set to resume Tuesday, December 4.
Conan O’Brien will pay staffers himself, while Tonight Show layoffs begin today.

We thought it might be fun to take a similar look at the overall season-to-date performance for shows in the 18-49 demo, but just for new shows. So we did. I don’t know what surprises me more, the performance of Bionic Woman (#3) or that NBC press releases touting this performance haven’t come my way.

Below is a data table that perhaps only a numbers junky could love, but c’mon, admit it, if you’re reading this you are in fact a numbers junky! See the lengthy disclaimer/explanation under the table. Through 11/25, Grey’s Anatomy has been the most watched show in the 18-49 demo this season, followed by House and Desperate Housewives. ABC places 3 shows in the top 10 (and two out of the top 3), as does NBC. CBS and FOX have two each. Noteworthy top 10 performers are #7, The Office and #9, Family Guy. Those shows are noteworthy because of their season-to-date household ratings (overall, not just in the demo).
