Lukewarm Statements from Yesterday as Talks Continue

Our latest (12/5) Show By Show Strike Status is here.

Talks continue today, as both sides released lukewarm statements yesterday.

The writers pressed for jurisdiction on reality TV. I have no inside information, but I’ve got to believe that’s not something the producers are likely to give on.

  1. Rena Moretti says:

The only reason the networks love reality show is how cheap they are. Instead of negotiating with the unions in order to make comedies and dramas more affordable to shoot, they order more and more reality shows.

For some reason, the WGA doesn't seem to think it's something worth discussing (probably because they look at ever increasing prices for dramas and comedies as a “victory”…)
