Overnight Results for Tuesday, January 8

Posted on 09 January 2008 by Robert Seidman

Scoreboard for Tuesday, Jan 8, 2008 NBC FOX CBS ABC CW
Total Viewers (million) 11.84 8.60 8.09 4.35 3.47
Rating/Share: Adults 18-49 4.6/12 2.8/7 1.9/5 1.3/3 1.5/4

Led by season-high ratings for Law & Order: SVU and continued solid performance by The Biggest Loser 5, NBC easily had the most overall viewers and the most viewers in the 18-49 demographic. With a lineup of repeats, FOX came in second in both viewers and the demo, followed by CBS, ABC and The CW. Poor performance by ABC’s lineup of sitcoms and Cashmere Mafia landed it dead last (yes, even worse than The CW) in the demo. The CW benefited (relatively speaking) from pretty solid performance with the season premiere of One Tree Hill. Over on CBS, a repeat of NCIS was the night’s second most-watched program overall, but the 34th annual The People’s Choice Awards from 9p-11p did not fare well. The award show’s numbers dwindled to a record low with an average of 6.0 million viewers. See the night’s full details:
