The USA network dominated the top end of the most viewed cable program rankings, taking the top four spots with Monk, Psych and two episodes of WWE RAW. Disney snuck in the middle of the top ten with Hannah Montana and Herbie Fully Loaded. NICK anchored the bottom of the top 10 with two SpongeBobs and an episode of iCarly. Fox News Channel makes a rare appearance in the list at #10 with the Republican Debates. Meanwhile with the primaries in full gear CNN landed two spots in the top 20 with Anderson Cooper 360 (#15) and New Hampshire Primary coverage (#16).
Note to Fox News Channel fans — while two installments of Fox’s New Hampshire primary coverage made the top 20 in cable “household ratings” at #12 and #13, in terms of overall viewers those shows did not make the top 20.
Seems like ESPN is a one trick pony with Monday Night Football. Make that a two-trick pony, some of the college games did rather well. From regularly landing first in the list (and bringing the SportsCenter airing after MNF with it) to not being anywhere in the list at all — not even in the top 40.
September and the new football season must seem very far away for ESPN.
