The fourth place network will no doubt puff its feathers out about winning a Monday night, but that’s exactly what the peacocks at NBC did, winning the most viewers and the 18-49 demographic on a Februrary sweeps Monday night.
Deal or No Deal performed strong for NBC, and while American Gladiators couldn’t find more viewers than ABC’s Dance Wars, Gladiators crushed Bruno and Carrie Ann when it came to the 18-49 demo.
CBS had solid results considering a lineup of mostly repeats. But all the news is not good for the Eye, newcomer Welcome to the Captain wasn’t all that welcome last week when it premiered and was less welcome this week. It couldn’t outperform the lead-in of How I Met Your Mother, and that’s bad news because Mother was a repeat. On the plus side, almost ten million tuned in for a new episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine. More good news for CBS, a repeat of Two and a Half Men was the second most watched program of the night, trailing only Deal or No Deal in total viewers.

I watched Prison Break last night, and I realized it would have made a kick-ass movie, and I just hope that in the future they can move it to the big screen, like they did the X-Files (that was such an awesome show)!

I really enjoy The New Adventures of Old Christine. Am glad to see it isn't totally being killed by the scourge that is reality tv

Strange ratings numbers among the majors for Monday night. 35 million were watching at 8pm; then, at 8:30, 'The Captain' held almost all of the HIMYM viewers. But by 9pm people were switching off (or going somewhere else) – although many who remained switched to 2&1/2 Men (or did they switch on just to watch that?)
Is this usual? Will 'The Captain' find a place on the CBS comedy block? Where are the 8pm viewers going?

Jon — it's hard to do those kind of comparisons the way we produce the tables. A portion of the viewing population for 9pm is contained within the numbers for Gladiators and Dance Wars reported at 8pm, but because the #s reported for those shows were the averages for the whole period (8p-9:30p) it's not easy to extract the 9pm averages.
Would be easier with half hourly data, which we sometimes see via Berman, but this was not the case with Monday night's data

I see it now… that'll teach me to go out drinking on a Monday night (when there's no football) when I have important Nielsen numbers to crunch Tuesday afternoon.

Cannot believe Prison Break gets only around 7.5 to 8.0 million viewers… This show is like the greatest thing to happen to Television since the antenna
