The queen of daytime syndication brought her powers to network primetime on Sunday as Oprah’s Big Give premiered at the #1 spot for both viewers and 18-49 adults and helped ABC win the night. ABC’s Here Come the Newlyweds premiered after Oprah and was unable to hold on to the lion’s share of her audience, not a good sign.
Fox’s new sitcom Unhitched, premiered at 9:30 to mediocre numbers following Fox’s consistent animated trio of Simpsons, King of the Hill and Family Guy. NASCAR-powered Fox was not far behind in the demo, and its final show results will likely differ because NASCAR ran past its scheduled 8pm stop in the East. See the full night’s half hourly details:

Oprah skewed this week's Sunday ratings (plus NASCAR ran late) so it's hard to figure what the regulars (especially in reruns) fared against each other. Simpsons had an excellent HH (yeah, TVBS), but then FOX seemed to slowly trail off.
This is the only day of the week I watch FOX, and I just wanted to mention that the new sitcom, Unhitched was excellent. When I compare this premiere episode to, say, the Seinfeld or Cheers pilots, they look like junior high school productions next to this new Farelly Brothers' show. Check it out… it's very 2.5 Men edgy/funny and well written.
Jon, I didn't see Unhitched, but will check it out. I'm surprised Fox put it on *last* for its premiere. Fox is usually so good about giving shows a good promo spot after some heavy hitter. I think it would have made much more sense to have it follow NASCAR last night.
You're a 75% purist when it comes to the Lion's Share! 10.34 and a 4.1 in the demo don't seem too bad for what Here Comes the Newlyweds is
It's no Desperate Housewives, but Oprah barely did better than the impressive Extreme Makeover. What's the permanent timeslot for Newlyweds?

Unhitched is definitely a 'late' night time slot show. You'd have thought FOX would have done a better job of leading into this one, but it did follow FamGuy here in the PST, which would be the same type of viewer. It would also do well if it followed Two and Three Quarters Men (Jake is getting older as you'll see in the next new ep) because, in my opinion, it is Seinfeld meets Sex and the City and 2.5 Men in New York for a threesome.
BTW, is this Oprah show going to be a regularly scheduled program or was it a special… I don't pay attention to these types of things?

Seven more episodes upcoming of Oprah in primetime!
Re: Lions Share. On average, Newlyweds lost 33% of Oprah's audience and 23% of the demo, but I admit that my comment was colored by knowledge of the 30 minute breakdowns that were not entered into evidence above for everyone.
Here they are:
First 30: 11.22m viewers, 4.4 18-49
Second 30: 9.46m, 3.9
