I think lead-ins might still have some validity. For instance, last week The Moment of Truth was the lead-in for Sarah Connor. And although the game show got significantly better ratings than Prison Break (SCC's original lead-in), Sarah Connor had it's lowest rated show of the season. This week the show returned to the levels it had established in previous episodes.

I didn't see the half hourly data for last night. I did see that the HH rating for the second hour went up though not much - I think from like a 4.7 to a 5.0.

Very interesting. And yeah I too am curious to see the 18-49 demographic rank a week from now. Hopefully Fox will be missing Sarah Connor.

I also heard something else, about how SCC gained viewers in the second hour. A couple blogs were talking about it. I would imagine that looks good to Fox too, I just hope it looks good enough.

8 mil plus another 1.5 on time shifted DVRs and Tivo's is close to 10m. That is a number I hope they like and I hope that they renew for the Fall or next Spring with a full season(22 episodes). I hope they continue the story, I think its very good. I think Prison Break and T:SCC is a good back to back night. just like Bones and House.

Frank, appreciate it -- I'll get rid of the other.

I think multiple data points matter. If it had 15.2 million viewers and a 1.6 in the demo, that would be kind of CBS-esque, but I doubt any show with 15m viewers regardless of demo performance would matter.

Similarly if Sarah Connor only got say 4 million viewers but ALL of them were in the 18-49 demo, I don't know that they'd keep the show -- and based on last week's #s the news wasn't as good, but last night's average of a 3.1 18-49 rating for two hours: I think it's probably good enough.

Like Jack, I certainly hope it comes back. Hopefully that's not merely wishful thinking. Let's see what the 18-49 demo rankings a week from today look like.

Sorry, my last comment is in the wrong post.

I had a question about the 18-49yr demographic. When you say the 18-49yr demographic numbers for SCC are solid, does only the 3.1 matter? Or does it also bode well for them that they got a 3.1 even with only 7.98 million live viewers, as compared to 20/20, which had almost double the live viewers, getting only a 3.7? And in that same vein, Two and a Half Men and Deal or No Deal, which had almost two million more live viewers and got (essentially) the same 3.1 as SCC?

To me this means that SCC may have less viewers, but a significant portion of them are in the 18-49 demographic. I'm assuming that if this is what the executives look at for advertising, Fox should be pretty pleased, even if they don't like the live numbers.
