Oh great. I made it over the hump of the first three-fourths of Jericho and I definitely enjoy the show now. Tonight, the next to the last episode of Jericho season two will air. CBS is billing next Tuesday’s (3/25) episode as the season two finale. So as I watch tonight, I will be thinking am I watching my next to last episode of Jericho ever or just for the time being?
I hope it’s the latter. While I have admittedly been outspoken about not seeing CBS as the home for Jericho (and though my opinion of the show itself has changed, my opinions about it being on CBS haven’t), I definitely believe it ought to have a home somewhere.
I haven’t yet seen “it’s for sure cancelled/renewed!” news that I’d trust, but if there’s no major spoiler we’ll definitely find out in a little more than a week when the season two finale ends. They filmed two endings of Jericho. One a cliffhanger, one a series finale. I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to tell which is which.
I’ve got Jericho on the DVR now and the program guide for tonight’s episode says Major Beck (Esai Morales) goes to extreme measures to prove he is in complete control of the town, Chavez (Chris Kramer) tells Hawkins (Lennie James) it’s time to transport the bomb.
Given that the show has morphed more 24ish, I’m wondering if the finale will involve Hawkins losing the bomb and then going all Jack Bauer and saving the world, or whether he just loses the bomb. We’ll see soon enough.
Lennie James completes the trilogy of cool British actors who are great at playing Americans. Along with James are Hugh Laurie of House and Dominic West who played Baltimore po-lice officer Jimmy McNulty in HBO’s The Wire.
Someone asked for Jericho’s LIVE+7 numbers (live plus seven days of DVR viewing). We only have numbers through the 2/26 episode, but here they are:
2/12: 8.14 million
2/19: 6.75 million
2/26: 7.81 million

Robert… Like I told you last week, once you get to season two the show changes completely! I must admit I do like the no back stories and just the meet of the show format we have in season 2, but it would be nice to have 22 episodes to ponder over.

I agree with you, CBS isn’t the home for Jericho. It just can’t deliever what the network wants from it, even with an action packed season like this one is. I’m loving the 24 feel of the show (of course, I really love 24 so thats probably why…well I really LOVE the first couple of seasons of 24, I like the rest of them–but thats off topic). I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen in last nights episode. I was just crossing my fingers no one would give the Rangers up. I wanna see a full on New Bern and Jericho revolt and I wanna see Hawkins save the world because he is just that awesome.
