…we weren’t expecting any at this point, were we? I’m sad to say I wasn’t, but I’m sorry the news isn’t better.
Jericho did a 3.3/6 (household rating/share) in the early overnight numbers. Things got a little worse than last week. I have no idea whether that plays into which episode CBS airs on 3/25 or not at all. It was better than Big Brother’s 3.2/5, but a lot worse than the repeat of NCIS which did a 6.9/11.
Viewer numbers and the 18-49 demo will be posted in the normal overnight ratings post.

why is that Cbs doesnt understand that the lead in and the timeslot kills good shows. If this show was on friday or saturday it would get much better ratings. This is some of the best television i’ve ever seen yet we have to put up with bad decisions by a network that keeps making them.

Friday and Saturday nights are the least watched nights of televsion. If they wanted the show to do go, they’d put it in a 8 or 9pm timeslot and not up against something crazy like Lost or American Idol.
I wasn’t expecting much rating wise but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t hoping. Maybe CBS will surprise us, but I doubt it.

At this point, everybody is going to be losing to Fox. CBS better do what The CW has already done; wise up. Wise up and realize that they’re numbers for other shows, like Ghost Whisperer and Numbers, are almost on par with Jericho, so what is the big deal? Either way, they’re not going to top Fox, so they might as well get over it.

People now blame Jericho’s lead in? Why does Jericho keep losing viewers? You mean to tell me if they dont watch Big Brother they dont watch Jericho? I though Jericho viewers were supposed to be more than robot sheep?
Alot of military families I know were totally appalled at last weeks Fallujah 2004 re-enactment and some said the producers have really wrecked Jericho. Much of Jerichos Season 1 fan base was likely conservatives and military families (usually conservative). The whole Kansas = Iraq thing was a big mistake. Many have grown weary of looking at Jericho through the eyes of the MoveOn.org/Daily Kos lefties with their grossly distorted view of what US troops are doing in Iraq. On Jericho US troops are either portrayed as zombie corporate drones at the “Beck” and call of corporate America or “middle management” as Jake Green snarked last night.

Look at NCIS – a military legal show. Scoring triple Jerichos numbers while doing up against the American Idol juggernaut. That speaks volumes. NCIS has no lead in at all and competing against the highest rated show on TV.

NCIS is not a show that requires weekly viewing, its a show that random families can tune into at random times without being lost. Jericho is a continous storyline, which means it wont get as many viewers as NCIS

And NCIS is on at 8:00, so lawers and military people that wake up at 5:00 can watch it.

Wow a show about lawyers, I’m so surprised its doing well in the ratings.
Wow, I totally don’t agree with anything you have to say. I prefer season 2 to season 1 wholly and completely.
And for the record, there are no US Troops on Jericho. There are Allied States Troops, but no US Troops. Jericho’s citizens is fighting to not loose the United States of America.

NCIS isnt a serial drama. True. But a solid 8 million fans watched Season 1 of Jericho. Now its down to around 5 million or so. 2-3 million hard core fans of Season 1 abandoned ship. Had Jericho held those 8 million (along with budget cuts) chances of a Season 3 would be decent. As it, its Toast.
While a lead in show can explain Jericho not GAINing viewers, it cant explain why the existing fan base is melting away like an ice cube in the hot sun. Obviously many Season 1 fans simply dont like what Season 2 has become. Im still watching, but many other I know quit as far back as episode 2. I feel like Leonardo DiCaprio on the Titanic when the stern of the ship rose high into the air and then began the final dive into the deep. Im going down with the ship! Yeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwww!!! That darn nuke better actually explode. Maybe the hand of God could come out of the sky like in the closing scenes of Stephen Kings THE STAND and detonate the nuke with Jake and Hawkins strapped to crosses by the evil Tomarchio/Valente.

Oh, so you mean to tell me that all of those “military families” that have been watching have watched all of Season 1 and all of the current season before passing their judgment on last week’s episode?
Your statements are not only based on skewed perceptions, but stereotypical in regards to families in the military. I hardly see how a military family can be conservative if they’re willing to send one of their own to their death sentence thanks to President Bush, who gets to sit up in the White House and watch Priscilla Presley, who looks like she’s been sucking on lemons to keep her face tight, on Dancing with the Stars as young men and women are losing their lives for a war that’s foundation is as shaky as the president when he chokes on a damn pretzel.
You speak as those you’re speaking for everyone when you’re only speaking for yourself. It’s a TV show. If you’re going to compare television with real life every time you turn it on, then you shouldn’t be watching. Or, maybe you just can’t handle the fact that there’s an honest show on television that isn’t afraid to go there. So, why don’t you go go be the drone and tune into American Idol and all the worthless s*it on television that doesn’t require you to think because obviously, you don’t.

Guess Who how is 10 triple of 6?

NCIS has no lead-ins because all they have is repeats. I’m sure, like clockwork, they’ll have yet another repeat next week because like all shows of the kind, they have nothing original to offer.

WEll, there are also a lot of military families that don’t see this as some kind of reenactment. If they are they are missing the point. Not to mention there have been many people from the military posting on CBS that adore the show.
No, we did not expect ratings to change second to the last show. But they have been pretty constant.
And to the person saying “you blame the lead in NOW” most of us have blamed the lead in at least partially all along. I don’t know if you realize the kind of ire that even MENTIONING Big Brother creates in folks.
But whatever, those who like it do and those who want to bash do and ne’er the twain shall meet.
I happen to think there is room for one intelligent show, and let the rest watch the rest of the slock out there. I guess no matter what, we have our dvds. I personally hope they show the cliffhanger regardless because the end makes no one happy and by all reports its amazing.

It’s ok, Danielle. Guess Who can’t distinguish what’s real and what’s not like some of us can. Guess Who, if the only criticism that you can spew at us is the fact that Jericho parallels Iraq and that’s why people aren’t tuning in, you need to get some new material. I can appreciate the realism that Jericho offers every week, but when I turn off the television, I turn it off, it doesn’t bleed into what’s going on in Iraq because it ISN’T Iraq. Get over it.

Jericho is still gaining from Big Brother, but yes, Big Brother has indirectly hurt Jericho. BB fans are protesting the show over certain houseguests words and actions, “leaked rigging” and the down right smuttiness of the season (this has been going on since the show started!). One of the first incidents even caused Lowe’s to drop their advertising.
If BB & Jericho had switched timeslots, we’d still see low numbers for BB but I venture to say there would be a nice spike in viewership for Jericho.
10pm is the death slot for CBS.

What they need to do is Put Jericho on Friday nights after Ghost Whisperer and move Numb3rs either before or after Big Brother. At this point, it’s too late because there’s only one episode left, but the fact that they refused to even TRY to do that just proves, even though they’d like to state otherwise, that they don’t know what they’re doing because when you strip all the numbers in the world away, it’s a big guessing game and nothing more than that.

LOL. Guess Who / Soylent3 spewing the same B.S. over here. What do you have the same post saved on Microsoft Word and just paste it all over the internet? Please kill yourself.

My wife and a friend have worked on the show for both seasons, when i found out that CBS was placing the show tuesday night 10:00 I knew we where going to be in trouble, i am a wake up at 3:30am to go to work and they where going to kill a good show. But remember critics that this is a 7 episode season, not a whole lot of time to tell a story like in season 1. Plus CBS did not want to bring back the show, so blame them for setting it up to fail…THANK YOU CBS

I still don’t see why Military families wouldn’t like it. Jericho isn’t fighting the US government, they’re fighting a usurper corporate governemnt. Whatever, someone was just trying to troll it up in here I think.

There are always going to be detractors. I see Jericho not as an anti-establishment entity, but as an anti anti-corruption movement that wants to get rid of the “virus” that has infiltrated their government.
Sure, there are parallels between Jericho, 9/11, and Iraq, but for me, as a viewer; I see it as what COULD happen if a movement like Jennings and Rall actually overthrew our government and the chaos that would ensue if people didn’t take a stand like the citizens of Jericho. It’s what you want it to be. Unfortunately, for some people, it’s that show that’s always going to be compared to Iraq, but not for me. It’s about choosing to survive the fight.

I agree that 10 p.m. is late but don’t agree with the political and/or military connections mentioned above or below from something that happened in 2004. It’s a TV show and one that has captured my attention since the beginning. It’s a “wow, I didn’t think about that possibility” show that stirs debate and begs to continue. What will be next? Going to be a long week I think.
It is interesting to think that the one country that could overtake our country is our country.

The numbers are telling you that millions of folks would rather watch a rerun than a reality show. That’s what the numbers tell you.
The numbers also tell you that after that rerun there is nothing to hold your attention and you go read a book or get online.
The numbers further tell you that once these millions of people find something else to do, they don’t come back for a 10pm show. They didn’t for Cane either.
The numbers tell you that considering you have to get up at 5 am the next day and because you can record it and/or watch online, there is no reason to force yourself to stay awake until 11pm to watch mindless drivel to get to the one show you actually are anticipating.
The numbers tell you lots of things if you listen.

I doubt there are many people who love Jericho more than I do. Because I have to get up at 5am I just can’t stay up that late. I’m approaching zombie state by 930. Jericho is on by 10, I do ok during the show, I nod off during commercials, and by 11 I’m just dreading getting up at 5. And so now I watch online the next day, simple as that.
To me Jericho has always been an 8pm show. It did fairly well at first. The hiatus killed it and people have never gotten back on. Reruns on Friday at 10 didn’t help, then waiting another 8 months to air 7 new episodes on Tuesday at 10pm was worse. This show never got a break.
Try jerking LOST around like that. See what happens.

Lost did get jerked around one season like that, and they lost viewers. I stopped watching, but they always had the one hour, “Previously on LOST,” shows constantly for viewers to catch up.
I wonder what the ratings are for the reruns of season 1 on Scf-Fi.
