Lifetime’s Movie “Wisegal” has 372,000 DVR Viewers

For the week of March 10-16, 2008, Lifetime’s Saturday movie Wisegal was the top cable time-shifted show with an increase of 11.3% over its Live audience in its Live+7 viewing audience. It also had the largest time-shifted audience of 372,000 viewers. Neither of those are particularly high numbers for cable time-shifting, but most of the regular cable time-shifting powers were absent this week. This does mark the first time, in my recollection, that a Lifetime network show has been at the top of any of our lists.
USA’s House had an increase of 9.4% and 269,000 time-shifted viewers to place second in terms of % increase from DVR viewing, although it was bested for absolute time-shifted viewers by the three WWE Raw episodes. Filling out the top 10 were three episodes of WWE Raw, two iCarlys, a Back at the Barnyard, and a Spongebob Squarepants.

Our time-shifting chart ranks which of the Top 40 cable shows had the largest % increase in viewing between Live audience and Live+7 audience numbers from viewers watching shows later on their digital video recorders (DVRs) as well as indicating the size of the audience that watched in the 7 days after the live show aired.

the SpongeBob #s are rather striking. Seemingly Bob would be ripe for a ton of DVR usage, but it’s as if it were a sporting event that needed to be watched LIVE.
I went back to look at the LIVE+SD numbers and for the SpongeBob that’s #15 above with 4.179 million LIVE+7, it’s live+SD was 4.175. So of the 116K DVR users, 112K watched the same day anyway. for Bob, the live+7 numbers seem a rounding error vs. live+sd.
House on the other hand, was 2.912 million on a live+SD basis, so most of its viewership was after the day it aired. given its Friday @11pm timeslot, that’s probably not too surprising.
