| Total Viewers (million) | 14.54 | 12.71 | 7.95 | 7.07 | 1.19 |
| Rating/Share: Adults 18-49 | 4.0/10 | 4.4/11 | 2.4/6 | 2.4/6 | 0.5/1 |
ABC took the most viewers averaging almost two million more viewers than rival CBS. But, words rarely typed on this website, CBS took the 18-49 demo from ABC despite having fewer viewers. With all new episodes, CBS is getting very consistent performance from its Monday night lineup featuring two hours worth of comedy and CSI: Miami.
The bloom may be off the CSI rose, but its fans haven’t noticed. CSI: Miami was the most watched show on CBS all night averaging 15.53 million in the 10pm hour. I wish people would stop whining about how hard it is to get viewers at 10pm. CBS had more viewers from 10pm-11pm than any of the earlier hours.
While everyone’s raving about The Big Bang Theory and I’ll go ahead and rave too, just because it has Kaley C. and even I have to admit Jim Parsons is funny. But this show is the night’s weakest link both in viewers and the demo for CBS. It will certainly get more time to build an audience, but if it has numbers like this next season – it’s no shoe-in.
Props to Julia Louis-Drefyus for breaking the “ex-Seinfeld” cast member stigma. The New Adventures of Old Christine is starting to stand on its own two legs very nicely, although last night was buoyed by an appearance of her old cast mate, Jason Alexander. But all hail the Men, Two and a Half Men, while trailing CSI: Miami in viewers had the best 18-49 demo rating of any show on television last night with a 5.3/13, which surpassed the 5.0/13 pulled by Dancing with the Stars, which cleared 20 million viewers for its 90 minute installment. Coming out of Dancing was The Bachelor: London Calling, whose numbers will likely be adjusted down in the finals because DWTS ran into the 10pm hour – and it lost more than half of the DWTS audience without the adjustment…
Your dad may be better than my dad (bet on it) but My Dad is Better Than Your Dad is stinking it up for NBC. Deal or No Deal didn’t reach the ten million mark, but that almost 10 million can stand to watch that show for an hour is surreal to me. Still it more than doubled “Dad’s” lead-in. Deserving credit at the peacock network is Medium in the 10pm slot which held on to most of Deal or No Deal’s lead-in (plus it does very well w/DVR viewers). Now in its fourth season, Medium has a loyal and consistent following. Its 18-49 numbers aren’t great but…
I don’t believe I would have ever even heard of this show if not for doing this web site. It has no buzz, no promotion, no nothing. Just a stable base of over 10 million viewers (with DVR) who watch it religiously.
Over on FOX, Mark Berman says that New Amsterdam fits nicely out of House. I say a REPEAT of House had almost a million more viewers and outperformed New Amsterdam in the 18-49 demo as well. Not so good, but perhaps not bad for those of us who want to see the return of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

It will be interesting to see how CSI Miami does in Jerichos 10pm Tuesday time slot. The results should pretty much put to rest complaints that Jericho failed because of a bad time slot and lead in. Of course die hard Jericho fans will still complain about the Nielsen ratings. Ive heard some of them are actually sending peanuts to Nielsen. How on earth they expect that to result in a 2nd revival is beyond me.

Sorry, but Mark has it right, and didn’t put it on the “Losers” list. Plus, NA’s numbers increased from last week (and the total HH increased were better than those from 2 weeks ago). Not bad for a show without TSCC’s Super Bowl promos.
Anyway, I don’t know why you think NA and TSCC is an either/other situation.
PS:
If you were a gal, you’d have Nicolaj’s face plastered all over your website like you do Summer’s :p

Glad to see that Big Bang is holding steady numbers week-in week-out. Not brilliant, but solid.
Now… who’s gonna start with Summer and Terminator? It’s the monday TV-ratings topic after all.

Andrea, I am not a gal, but I believe in making everybody happy….
You, Marc (and me) are welcome to have opinions about the show itself and agree or disagree as reasonable people.
But the ratings aren’t opinionated, they are just numbers. Marc has his biases and they are not always numbers based. That’s true for me as well, but here, since it’s TVbytheNUMBERS, i try to analyze based on the numbers, not how I feel about a show.

The core of NA is clearly outmatched by the TSCC core fans both in the demo and overall viewers. I don’t see a lot of free timeslots available next fall over at Fox with the new shows debuting and the old ones coming back so I think Fox is gonna choose either TSCC or NA. Not both. Story wise there is so much unexplored potential in TSCC than there ever will be in NA so IMO there is only one winner here. TSCC. Don’t underestimate NA’s promotion, I saw ads for this show left and right so that’s a really poor excuse. If Fox were acting like Fox normally do you’ll see the series ender in 2 episodes instead of the season ender.

Actually there’s two pics. I guess Robert got carried away so the table is pushed to the right and there are two Summer pics. Robert, you devil, you.

Yes, I am biased for NA, but I like TSCC as well. I am a sci-fi fan. I don’t think Marc is biased for NA, I don’t think he even watches this show. I’ve been reading his column for some time, and he’s been quite accurate in his assessments.

@Jack, it was an accident, but a.) sometimes accidents happen and b.) sometimes I like the accidental results.
This was one of those times! I figured the double-dose couldn’t hurt anything. It didn’t push the table to the right for me but I just looked in Firefox and yeah — it pushed it off to the right. So we’re back to only one Summer…not an awful outcome really!

Tony,
I still don’t see the problem with FOX having *two* dramas returning for Fall. That would be only two successful shows in two seasons!
FOX will continue to try to fling stuff against the wall, but I think its taking a big risk by ordering Whedon’s sight-unseen drama after the disaster of “Firefly”.

Wasnt crazy about TSCC when it first came on, but it kind of grew on me; hopefully its gets a full season. Hopefully the new Terminator movie helps give it a boost. NA was just not all that interesting – dont care what happens to that one.

Hi, first of all I would like to say I’m a girl (duh)and I’m from Holland so this ratings stuff is beyond me but I would like to comment on the whole Summer Glau thing from a girl’s point of view. Somebody compared Summer to Nikolaj but only in their physical appearance rather than their acting abilities. I’m sure Mr Seidman did not plaster Summer’s picture all over this site just because she’s pretty but she can back it up with some serious acting skills. That’s the reason why she has so many fans. I’ll give you an example: Me and my brother watched Firefly during the summer and he did not like Summer’s look at all, he even used the word butt-ugly as I recall. I told him that’s not most important thing to consider but being the dog that he is he laughed in my face. Well, as the show progressed he saw through the appearance and began to appreciate her talent which is impossible to overlook. The final nail in his coffin was Serenity in which Summer left him speechless, you should’ve seen the look on his face and that’s probably the only time in his life he apologized to me for being so wrong because now he has a big crush on her. Which brings me to the comparison with Nikolaj. Summer is a terrific actress who happens to look good while Nikolaj is a strikingly good-looking guy who acts. His role could be played by different good looking guys who could equal his performance easily since he can’t even hide his accent. Sure enough he does a much better job than Schwarzenegger but as a European myself I’m constanly annoyed by the little accent nuances. While Summer cannot be replaced in her roles. Who else could pull of River Tam? Even in playing a robot she does the job just perfect, who would think that was even possible? So hence why I think it’s unfair to compare the two because not many can hold their own against Summer and this is coming from a girl, not some drooling guy.

Maria, thank you. While it saddens me a little that I’m better understood by the women of the Netherlands than the women of San Francisco, you called it correctly.
Though I think Ms. Glau is very attractive, I am lucky in that my eyes get to feast on beautiful women allllll the time. But how many of them can pull off the role of a cool and calculating robot like Ms. Glau? I plaster her here because I think she’s great in that role and I enjoyed Terminator: TSCC very much.
In fairness, I have yet to watch New Amsterdam so I can’t opine on it or Nikolaj’s acting abilities.

What will be even more interesting than tonights 10pm airing of CSI Miami will be the silly new retread of “Circus of the Stars” called “Secret Talents of the Stars” starting April 8th.

At first I though this show was a joke after reading the lineup of mostly has-been stars and people that I dont classify as stars at all. I wonder if this will beat Jericho’s ratings? If it does that will be the final insult to Jericho fans. I think Les Moonves is hoping thats what happens.

Well I’ll give them props at least for not including Danny Bondacuce and Gary Coleman
And, I confess when I saw the press release a couple of weeks ago my first thought was “What kind of silly *** stupid ******* idea is THIS?”
But then I did think, “George Takei? Sulu sings country? I might have to see that!” I’m guessing though I will have to settle for enjoying him much more in the role of Hiro Nakamura’s dad on Heroes. I wished they hadn’t killed him off, but given the time travel capabilities, perhaps he will return someday.

Robert,
Mr Sulu on Heroes was one of few bright spots for Season 2. Im sure eventually Danny Bonaduce will show up on the talent show eventually along with Flavor Flav, New York, Gary Busey, Bret Michaels along with the cast of Pussycat Dolls (why is that thing still on the air?) . Actually I wouldnt mind seeing Busey do something suitably bizarre like catching bullets with his teeth.

Andrea, I plead guilty but there are soooo many things on the list to catch up on. several seasons of Friday Night Lights and Desperate Housewives. I think I might have gotten my fill of immortals back in the day with the Highlander.
If FOX renews it, I promise I will watch/catch up.

You should’ve posted the vid in which she kicks the crap out of a room filled with men without using a stunt double. Most impressive fight scene I’ve ever seen a woman pull off onscreen without wires and CGI.

I did see some back in the day. She couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag while Summer has the total package. Best actress I’ve ever seen who happens to be good at physical scenes too. A disgrace to compare them actually.

My God – a Cynthia Rothrock shout-out. It’s 1992 in here.
I have to agree with Robert on NA. The competition is fiercer on Monday night but I think the NA death knell is that it’s not even competitive in the demo – not only is it fourth on the night but it’s down in both total viewers and 18-49s from reruns of House. Also, it films in location on NY (expensive?), it’s not a FOX co-production (no/little DVD potential) and it’s generating zero media buzz – I don’t want to harsh anyone’s shiny but I think FOX delivered NA DOA – this run is the equivalent of the ER doc doing resus so she can tell the family she did everything she could.
As for TSCC, I was drawn in by Lena Headey’s work (Queen Gorgo as Sarah Connor – who wouldn’t want to see that?) but Summer Glau (the whole cast in fact – BAG, who knew?) has grown become a favourite. Glau is tremendously charismatic in a role that requires her deliver a convincing performance with very little affect, which is much harder than being “big” onscreen.
My God – a Cynthia Rothrock shout-out. It's 1992 in here.

Ballerinas are way tough, Tony. You try dancing on point for 20 years – I betcha Ms. Glau would tell you stuntwork is far less painful.

I watched the videos. I STILL don’t get what is so special about Summer Glau. Did not like her bug eyed acting in Firefly, don’t like it in Terminator. She doesn’t take on any of the character at all! Urgh. I am sorry. I can never be converted.

I don’t see NA making it to next season. FOX is still holding the ax over Terminator, and it has more viewers and a much stronger showing in the 18-49yr demo.
And to the people saying that Summer Glau is not considered attractive, I say that is just ridiculous. She pretty much is the uber-”it” girl for sci-fi fans, and most any guy will tell you she is absolutely beautiful. She totally owns the Very Scary Robot role on Terminator too. Josh Friedman basically wrote that role for her, and I think it’s her best acting yet.
By the way, speaking of buzz, I think that shout out to Terminator on Big Bang Theory last week bodes well for the series. It shows it’s permeating into pop culture enough that it’s part of the mythology now. You can bet Warner Brothers is paying attention since their stake in T4 and the series is so large. FOX needs to hurry up and pick this series up. Building up more audience with re-runs and DVDs over the summer would help launch Season Two big time.

From what I’ve heard, CSI Miami on Tuesday, had the highest rating for 10:00 on Tuesday on any network in the past 5 years. Jericho will not be revived again. Vocal fans, but not enough of them.
