American Idol Continues Ahead in Both Viewers And 18-49 Season To Date
American Idol continues to hold the top two spots in the season to date race for both adults 18-49 and total viewers. The Tuesday edition’s STD adults 18-49 average slipped slightly from last week, while its total viewer average gained slightly.
Desperate Housewives, which returned with new episodes last Sunday to less than stellar ratings, saw both its season to date averages slip a bit, but maintained the #3 spot for 18-49 and the #6 spot for total viewers.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition slipped from #16 to #17 for season to date total viewers. CSI move up from #10 to #9 in season to date total viewers. Two and a Half Men moved up from #19 to #18 for total viewers, passing Survivor: Micronesia which fell back 3 spots to #19 for total viewers for the season.
Since these are season to date numbers, averaged since September, it’s unlikely we will see many sudden moves on the list, but the fresh episodes now airing on all the networks may cause some turbulence in the list in the upcoming weeks.
