  1. Bushlies says:

I know why Keith Olbermann is so unlikable-he hates everyone, especially those least like him. He seems very intolerant of those with different opinions just like the Nazi storm troopers. Olbermann is a German, right?. I’ve seen the YouTube video on him giving the Nazi salute…RACIST PIG!

I don’t know if I’d call him a Nazi, but Keith Olbermann definitely has a screw loose. There is some deep seated anger there that will probably manifest itself in some terrible tragedy down the road. Seek help Mr. Keith. Seek help and EXHALE!

Looking at the demo for Bill O’Reilly 25-54 I see why I get a blank stare from my friends when I ask if they watched the Factor. Is this a normal demo number for cable or is this just really low? Maybe all the other viewers are 18-24? (One can dream I guess)

Well, another week has gone by and Bill O creams Keith O again. When is PMSnbc going to get it? Oh yeah…..NEVER. The meltdown continues. This has got to be the most entertaining hour on tv. Keith’s close relationships with move on dot org. the Huff and puff ington post, Michael Moore, Jane Fonda and company, Air(head) America and all of the left wing crackheaded nutjobs out there are in a feeding frenzy looking for anything they can get their hands on. I’m looking forward to seeing the ratings numbers for the next week but won’t be surprised.
For EZ1, as I stated in a previous post, look for Keith to hang himself one night after one of his shows tanks again. I mean, how much longer can he put up with himself? Just watching his BUSHie eyebrows quiver gives me chills.

Yes, we can hope that “Countdown” is on meltdown. But the free speech that we cherish allows him to spew his venom and the marketplace will determine how long he does so. He is now rehearsing for his venom on John McCain should McCain be elected president – Yes it will be a rerun of his hatred for all else conservative. In his view anything right of Rachel Madow is conservative.
His free speech allows him to spew and our freedom allows me to boycott our local NBC affiliate even though I realize they have nothing to do with MSNBC programing. It doesn’t sound rational, perhaps, but I have to do something.

Another week, same posts. It’s getting tired. BOR’s audience is on a slight downward climb, while Olbermann has increased his audience dramatically year-over-year. If I’m not mistaken, a year ago KO was averaging about 600,000 viewers a night, now he hovers near a million. BOR has decreased about 5-10% in that time (a vitural non-move). KO’s audience is also much, much younger than BOR’s – witness the 25-54 numbers. FNC skews very old in general and these number bear that out.

NBC is thrilled with KO’s performance – he’s far and away the top rated series on MSNBC and one of the few good-news stories in general in the group of NBC networks. Likewise, Fox is very happy with BOR’s continued dominance, even if they’d like the audience to be a little younger.

I don’t see why you people slam KO so much – he’s essentially BOR on the other side of the spectrum. Everything you accuse KO of doing, BOR does it just as much or more. I’ve watched both, so I know. Remember BOR being surprised that black people were so civilized at that Harlem restaurant? I haven’t seen anything as profoundly foot-in-mouth on KO.

Type “Keith Olbermann” and “Nazi salute” into Google and you’ll find the Youtube video with Keith doing exactly that. WTFO, bro?

  15. Polly says:

Doug – Can’t let a mis-representation slide. “Remember BOR being surprised that black people were so civilized at that Harlem restaurant? ” If you listened to the entire conversation you would not have gotten that out of it. (I would also correct a mis-representation about Keith Olbermann even though I don’t like his program.) Anyway, back to the numbers. That’s what we’re here for right?

  17. ??? says:

Notice how Oreily/Hanity/Limbaugh never mention KO? They just totaly IGNOR him. Ouch. That’s some major disrepect, dude.
But, as my boss says, Never punch down.

  19. Larry LeBlanc says:

Kieth tried to beat the hell out of BOR over his remarks at that Harlam Restaurant. BUT
Randy Rhodes’ vulgar rants abour Hillary & Ferraroin San Francisco were ignored by KO on “Countdown”. If someone from FOX or CNN had
maid the exact same comments at the same club in San Francisico, KO would have made endless rants and references to it. Keith – there is a little stink of hyprocracy, double standards, selective contrived rage and even cowardice here!

Need help for media research for journalism class: after watching both shows over several nights it looks to me like Olbermann and O’reilly target different audiences, so I don’t really understand the rivalry. And, by the stats above, it’s not much of a rivalry. Mr. O’Reilly dominates. So it begs the question-why doesn’t Mr. Olbermann move to a different hour? Why is he going head-to-head with him? Everyone I know watches the Daily Show and our parents watch Fox news, leaving Mr. Olbermann in ratings no-mans land. I would think that MSNBC would have given up with Mr. Olbermann by now and be looking for the next Letterman or John Stewart??? Or is there something I’m missing? Can you still make ad revenue with last place ratings?

  23. Doug says:

WVU#1 – there’s no reason for KO to move to another hour. He and BOR are targeting different audiences and each are succeeding. Because KO is the highest rated program on MSNBC, it’s unlikely another timeslot would boost the ratings. He’s been doing well with his slow climb. And TDS doesn’t do any better in the ratings than KO, anyway. It just has a younger audience.

And Polly, yes, I watched the clip. In context. Profoundly, profoundly foot-in-mouth. There really is no mistaking what BOR said, although I did watch his show afterward to see him try to weasel out of it. Like I said, I’ve watched both shows and the two really aren’t any different from each other other than their stance on the political spectrum. They’re both loud, brash and at times idiotic.

As for Rhodes, she got the boot, and deservedly so. Why kick somebody who’s already been punished?

  25. Polly says:

Doug – wasn’t really talking about the clip. I was talking about the entire two hour radio show. I would have to agree to disagree about your interpretation of his remarks.

I’m not sure enough people watch either TV program for it to really make a difference though. (Just something for political and news junkies to chew over).

  27. Larry LeBlanc says:

Doug – She got a boot from Air America. She is back in full force on NOVA M radio and every progressive station is carrying her program.
She won !! Air America’s boot did not matter.

Ok, Doug, so what ur saying is that’s it’s ok for Olbermann to suck in last place as long as he’s number one in the worst rated network? Cool. How do I get hired?

  31. Larry LeBlanc says:

wuv#1, Doug & Polly – If BOR and KO are playing to “different” audiences, why does KO spend excess energy blasting FOX and BOR ?
Apparently, KO is trying for the same audience as BOR. Where am I wrong ?

  35. WVU#1 says:

someone told me that Ko was using the nazi salute in satire…ok, but giving the nazi salute in a joke would be like telling a black joke using the “N” word would it not? I don’t see the difference.

  37. Carolynn says:

Keith Olbermann never apologized for his tribute to Hilter (nazi salute) and forever lost the moral high ground. I think he is a closet racist hiding behind a Groucho Marks mask. AND If you find yourself watching and agreeing with him you can consider your self a racist, too. Same if you supported a David Duke or other racist leader.

  39. Polly says:

Larry – I never said they were playing to “different audiences”. Just that no matter how you look at it in the grand scheme of things both of their audiences are small.

I don’t watch KO so I don’t know why he “spends excess energy blasting FOX and BOR”. Maybe it gets him street cred from his liberal friends? (Hope this winky thing works since there is no editing posts here.

Having watched both shows, I have to ask: Who gives a flying fart about their “rivalry” or “demographic?” They’re BOTH overblown, hate-filled windbags. Who gets their NEWS from these guys, anyway? Unbelievable.

Hey Whocares: Apparently you care enough to drop a comment. Worthless as it was. And to answer your question, advertisers care. They want to sell product and to do that they want to reach as many folks in their target group as possible, i.e., bang for the commercial buck. I bet you fall into that “over 55″ demographic Oreilly meets, so I’m guessing you’re in the market for adult diapers right about now. And KO? His audience is buying anti-depressants.

  47. Joe Blow says:

Carolynn, i believe WVU#1 stands for west virginia University or something like that cause she was talking about a school project. So i bet she doesn’t fall into the over 55 demographic.

And to comment about the numbers, KO will never win over BOR cause all he does is hate up on him usually for no good reason and face it, no one likes watching a sore loser.

  49. Joe says:

uhmmm WVU- MSNBC is not the worst rated network, all you have to do is look at link right above KO vs. BO…genius. As for Fox News always dominating the charts. It makes sense. Look around at the rest of this website. Top rated cable shows- Sponge Bob, Pro Wrestling, Fox News…what’s the difference? brainless

  51. Waterman says:

Joe, when are you going to stop defending your friends over at pmsnbc? Everyone knows that to get on that network, all you have to have is credentials of a person who rides a short bus and licks the windows. Put Keith Slobberman up against SpongeBob and I bet SpongeBob wins. What’s the difference, oh yeah, Socialists and liberals like you are just plain BRAINLESS. Joe, what are you even doing here, I thought you were an athiest? The majority of us here believe in GOD an Country.

By the way Joe, you mentioned earlier in a post that the right was spreading fear, well here is a quote from todays news from your side of the isle: Hillary Rodham Clinton invoked Pearl Harbor, the Berlin Wall and Osama bin Laden as she reached for a victory in Pennsylvania’s Democratic presidential primary to recharge her comeback effort. Good try Joe, but no cigar, you are a hypocrite as are most leftists of your type.

  55. Joe says:

good name calling Waterman. It reminded me of middle school. you could at least be witty or try to find specific instances where I’m wrong like I’ve done in your case on many occasions. I think you should calm down. you sound mad, one might even say….bitter.

btw I never said the right was spreading fear, I said Fox News was(I guess you just admitted they’re one in the same and “fair and balanced” is comical at best) and I’m pretty sure they’re not running for president.

Joe: Fox news is obviously the best cable news station. They are fair and have many left wing hosts (Geraldo, Greta, Colmes etc.) and guests. The main thing that upsets me about your comment is that you call Spongebob brainless……..Have you actually watched the show. It’s very smart and clever for a cartoon.

Hey, Groucho Marx look alike loses at what ever he has undertaken. I will say he’s amusing because, he does nothing but create negative story lines. Even when he try’s a positive story it comes off negative. I’m 50 and don’t need a diaper yet! I can’t wait though. I won’t have to get up to go anymore. I can just keep mowing my lawn and pooping at the same time. Multi-Tasking.heheheheh

It’s been too quiet here for the past few days, what’s up with that? Oh well, got to go out and recruit some more friends to switch over to democrats to vote in Indiana and Kentucky soon. We need to make sure that Hillary gets as many votes as possible. Operation Chaos is in full swing.
