Beauty And The Geek Again Leads with a 30+% Increase From Time-Shifting

For the week of March 31 – April 6, CW’s Beauty and the Geek again lead all broadcast shows in audience % gain by time-shifting (DVR viewing). Its audience increased by 30.3% over the 1.467 million that watched it Live giving it a Live+7 audience of 1.912 million.
Another CW show was just a fraction behind, America’s Top Model had its audience increase by 30.0% over its Live airing placing it second for the week. Rounding out the top 1o were Wednesday’s Big Brother, Tuesday’s Big Brother, Eli Stone, Sunday’s Big Brother, New Amsterdam, Medium and My Name is Earl.
Unusually, CBS dominated top 20 time-shifted shows on a % basis with 11 of the 20. While we expect to see CBS shows in the top 20 for absolute DVR audience size, it’s s surprise to see so many of them in the top 20 for % viewing increase.

Fans of the “bubble shows” Eli Stone (ABC) and New Amsterdam (Fox) will point to their big increases in viewership via DVR as one of the reasons they should be renewed. For their sake, let’s hope the network executives agree.
The % Time-shifting table ranks which of the Top 150 broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest % increase in viewing between Live audience and Live+7 audience numbers from viewers watching shows later on their digital video recorders (DVRs).
