At least that’s what Sophia Myles, who plays Beth Turner on the Friday night supernatural drama aired by CBS told SCI FI Wire.
The funniest part of the story to me was:
Although the show’s fan base is predominantly women, Myles offered a way to attract male viewers to the show as well: “If the gentlemen sit down with their wives and watch, then they might get lucky over the weekend,” she said. “Hopefully, on that very night. So, guys, tune in, because you’re going to get lucky.”
Although I’d never seen the gender breakouts for Moonlight, I was fairly sure based on the comments we’ve seen that the show was largely popular among females. In any case, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer than a couple of weeks to find out for certain, but I’m sure to the rabid Moonlight fans who have been donating blood (great idea!) and sending garlic to CBS executives it seems like a long, long time.
I’ve got to think those same CBS execs must be a little frightened of fan reaction if the show is cancelled and that they’ll switch up and donate garlic and send blood to CBS.
At this point, I’m pretty sure Moonlight will be renewed by CBS. Here’s the link to the full SCI FI Wire story.

Thanks for the news Robert… as for the show being mostly watched by women, I’d think to disagree at first. Then I thought about my 2 favorite shows and realized its Alias and Veronica Mars… so I guess it’s just my taste in shows (it’s always hard finding good serial dramas)

I do think you are wrong, in a sense. Moonlight should be renewed, but when a repeat of CSI is still in last place on Tuesday nights, it shows something is up with the timeslot. CBS should have picked up Jericho, but not for a full 22. 7 or 13 that is it.

Well, if Moonlight is not renewed, the screams and thuds of fans hitting the floor will be so loud that the shockwave produced will affect the entire planet. (The cancellation heard ’round the world) Then the earth will probably open up and swallow the CBS building!

Moonlight is a great show. This male viewer has not missed a single episode, has them all in his DVR, and will buy the DVDs when they come out.
In addition to garlic, try sending a scratch off lottery ticket and asking them to use whatever the winnings are to fund new episodes of Moonlight. Be sure to send CBS feedback via their website too!

Thank you for all of the information and positive thoughts toward Moonlight. I felt so deflated when another ratings expert said he thought it should be cancelled. I am coming straight here in the future. This show generates a lot of emotion.

It gets pretty good ratings compared to other shows that still make it with less viewers. I’m pretty sure it’ll get renewed which is good because I like the show. However, not meaning to say anything bad about the show, I’d much rather Reaper or Eli Stone be in this position than Moonlight since I love those shows a lot (quite a bit more than Moonlight too) but I’ll take what I get.
