TV Guide is reporting that ABC has cancelled Men in Trees:
ABC has gone and canceled one of TV’s most consistently heartwarming hours, Men in Trees.
The sad, depressing news was just confirmed to me by series creator Jenny Bicks, who says she was informed of the network’s decision late last week. “I am really proud of the work we did on MIT,” she tells me. “A huge thank you to our supportive fans.”
Bicks believes that two years of schizophrenic scheduling ultimately did the cherished dramedy in. “I wish the show had not been moved six times and put onto two long hiatuses,” she sighs. “No show could survive that.”
I actually thought the show was consistently boring . . . no loss here!
They could retool the show and call it TREES WITHOUT MEN.
I do not really enjoy TV anymore. I despise all of the reality shows. Along with Lost, Men in Trees was my favorit show and I would search for it each and every week, since it changed nights and times so often. I am truly sad it is gone, it was a light hearted show that one could just sit and relax and laugh during.
How could ABC cancel this show??????????? Men in Trees was a great show! Now we will never know what happened to the GREAT characters on the show. And we will miss the actors.

I love t his show and it is one of the few on that is not reality, no harsh stories, no body getting shot. It promotes good morale and has a great cast. It is well written and just makes you feel good about watching it. I would love to move to Elmo and be a part of “their” world!
ok, so you have to have a little sophistication & education to enjoy MIT. clearly, the masses go for the raunchy, cheap trash shows on abc. Isnt there a station out there who can pick up MIT ? I am also a viewer who has finished watching abc, once, the only station I watched, now, no tv at all. so be it, will miss the show. farewell abc.

MEN IN TREES IS WONDERFUL. THERE IS NO WAS IT SHOULD BE CANCELLED. TOTALLY UNFAIR THAT ABC KEPT CHANGING THE TIME IT WAS AIRED. NO ONE KNEW WHEN IT WAS ON. I for one enjoyed Men in Trees, as many of my friends as well. I am sick and tired of reality TV. Soon that is all that will be on the tube. Not much acting required there.!!ABC is acting much like CBS cancelling all the shows with substance and replacing with “idiot” reality TV Shows, mindless entertainment.

This wonderful show has been cancelled probably because it was well written, has a large and enthusiatstic following and doesnt appeal to teenagers. I just found out about the cancellation and am very disappointed. At least make the episodes available in dvd for those of us who enjoyed this unigue entertaining show.
Men In Trees was also one of my favorite shows. And even though you had to search for it, never knowing where or when it was going to be on, I did not mind that. As I am reading, no one else seemed to mind that either. Hopefully, ABC will think it over and see what a big mistake it is taking it off the air. It's true or so it would seem, they always take the best shows off the air. I am really disappointed in ABC.
I am sad that this show is cancelled. I really looked forward to it. Not many shows I look forward to. The only problem was that they keep changing what day and time it was on. It's hard to build up a following and ratings when people tune in and the show isn't on. It would be great if they would bring it back and keep it in one place.
I loved this show it was great. I loved how real it was and how it dealt with living in Alaska for a woman from New York, Please b ring it back with the orignal characters.

That is so dissapointing to hear. But the usual since the networks are all a craze with boring repetitive idiotic 'reality' programing….which can only appeal to the uneducated, or boring individuals. Substance people lets have some tv substance.
Men in Trees was a refreashing change…yes the network scrambled it around way too much so how in earth can they determine a standard when most of the time you couldn't find the right night to watch it & hav to resort to internet tv watching. Well now ABC has nothing to offer me…back to cable telivision!
I agree with all the schedule changing, I lost track of when to watch ‘Men in Trees’. I had resorted to catching up on all the espisodes via my laptop and ABC.com. I was looking forward to the May 11 or later episode and had wondered what the heck happened to the show! I just got on line to find out when it will air for this fall only to discover it being cancelled
Like other viewers, I enjoyed this sitcom, I am not interested in reality tv shows, which i find boring, contrived, and a total waste of my time.
Please bring this sitcom back to the air waves!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a good show, the characters grew on you and there was a definite following!!! What more can you ask of show to know that its worth keeping???

I’m am truly saddened that they took off MIT. It was very well written, I looked forward to seeing it every week & recorded all of the episodes. I don’t know what’s wrong with ABC, you really should rethink your decision. The characters were terrific & the story line was as well. All of these GARBAGE reality shows that all of the stations are putting on are ridiculous. It is an insult to our mentality to expect people to watch these idiotic shows. You make fools out of the people that go on them as well. Rather than having an evening of good TV, you just show the world that people will do anything for money. It’s disgusting.
Wow. Seriously? That just totally ruined my night. Here I am, looking for when MIT was coming back this fall only to find out it is cancelled? I am so bummed right now. I think that it’s a bit odd really. MIT from what I understood had many many other viewers such as myself. I will miss it.

this is one of the best written shows i have ever watched!!! the emotions were real and the situations not improbable. the person who chose to not give this show a fair chance should be fired. just do a google search and look at all that you will find supporting it. i used to look forward to watching it every week. HELLO exec that cancelled show. there are millions of hopeless romantics out there that adore this show. Put your pride in your pocket and give this show another try. We all just want you to give it a fair chance. pick a night and a time and leave it there. I be you will see how well the show will do then and realize you were wrong. Give it some thought please
I agree this is one of the only shows I looked forward to and always excited to see it on the schedule. I’m heart broken to hear it will not return. We will never know what happens with Anne and Cash or any of the other lives that where evolving. Please reconsider bringing this classic story back and allow us continue following their stories
It is being canceled because ABC will not run a feel-good show about Alaska when a candidate (a dastardly Republican at that!!) is from there. Blame McCain for losing our ties to Elmo! Maybe they can bring Men In Trees back in 2020, when Sarah Palin is finally out of office!
I am bummed, as well, that MIT has been cancelled. Everytime a really good show comes on, they cancel it. I liked it because it was different. It wasn’t another stupid reality show, or a celebrity show, or a law or doctor show. Honestly, can’t they just leave the good ones alone? And what happened to Journeyman? Another good show that doesn’t appear is coming back. I can’t stand to watch another show about someone’s drug/alcohol addiction or their boyfriend/girlfriend doesn’t act right or whatever! Ugh! MIT was nothing like any other show. BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!
Why did ABC do a numbskull thing like this? I looked forward to watching this show every week. I pray that another network will run this wonderful series, and if not, that we could get the whole series on DVD.
I loved MIT!! ABC never gave it a chance by taking it off the air for months at a time. The setting was gorgeous, the characters were wonderfully developed, and the cast was superb! It reminded me a lot of my all time favorite show, “Northern Exposure”. This proves that all network executives care about is “the bottom line”. They care nothing about what the viewers like or want to watch. They only want to put poorly written, crappy shows on the air because they are cheap to finance. This is a shameful situation!!!
How disappointing but not suprising. The greater value is seen in crazy shows that are so outrageously shallow and unbelievable leaving us to think that most of the characters are a bunch of shallow boobs. Hopefully someone will pick up the series for cable. Too bad, show will be missed. Let me guess, it will be replaced with someone cheating, not treating their children correctly or …..hmm.. ladies live fighting.
Why is it that whenever I find a program that I enjoy…it is cancelled…even though this was just a bit of bubble gum program I enjoyed it. The fantasy, the beautiful landlscapes and woooo the men!

Please bring Men In Tree’s back!!!! Yhere are no good shows on TV anymore, most of the reality shows stink. All the channels on cable and nothing good but Prison Break and House.
I just did a search to find out why I haven’t seen MIT on ABC’s schedule yet. Was REALLY UNHAPPY to learn it has been cancelled. Whenever I could find it on the schedule, I watched it and it touched me. Most TV shows are violent, ridiculous, unfunny and/or not fit for family viewing. MIT was a soulful, tasteful, return to what TV used to be when it was entertaining. The show, the cast and crew were GREAT – we’ll miss you – shame on ABC!
Too Bad. abc should rethink this, especially with an Alaskan in politics. I have been waiting for MIT to start up again and I am not ready to give up on it. Things can always change!!!!!!!!! I look forward to its return….when it returns. Think about it again abc, or perhaps another network will be the smarter. I enjoyed the laughter and Cash was extremely pleasant to the eyes. Actually I liked everthing about the show except the cancellation.

Does any of the big shot t.v.guys watch what absolute junk is on t.v. that our children and gr.children are watching.?????. Shame on the people who canceled this show. T.V. stinks and we pay a fortune to watch it, which most of the time our t.v.gets shut off. Wise up you people who run these stations.
I am soooo sorry that Men In Trees is not returning. I have been waiting to hear when it is coming back, and just found out that it has been canceled !!! Everytime I like a show, it seem to get taken off. I am sick of all the reality shows, and I looked forward to watching MIT every week.

Just found out Men In Trees got cancelled. Who makes these idiotic decisions anyway? I usually watched in on the web because I never knew when it was on TV. For some reason, all the good shows always get cancelled and they leave the crap on. A big BOOOO to whoever made this decision.
I agree with all of the above re: the idiocy of cancelling this show. The setting was spectacular, the actors great, the storyline was entertaining. One of my special favorites; I will really miss this one. It is unfortunate that ABC is so consistently inconsistent with their programming. It does not encourage a viewer to become fond of any of their offerings, because of their strange cancellation pattern.
What a shame “Men in Trees” has been cancelled. It was the greatest, most worthwhile show on TV, next to LOST. This show had HEART! Many wonderful characters in truly unpredictable and humorous situations. Unlike any other show on TV. This show was a breath of fresh air and a lovely escape. This cancellation will leave a huge void. I beg ABC to bring the show back.

This show deserves better treatment.The characters are great. My husband, my daughter and I love this show. We have stayed loyal fans through the long absences and have just researched on the internet to find out when we would be seeing more episodes. This show has a true following of devoted fans. You people are the ones that make us not want to watch any new shows because as soon as we get attached you cancel them. We will not watch anymore shows on your network, what’s the use. This is a show that took me a awhile to get attached, but once I did I was hooked. Please reconsider bringing the show back. We just saw that Jack is now on Samantha Who, and that is what made us realize that something was wrong. With the long period of time between the airings, how could you possibly have ever gotten an accurate rating for this show to say “we need to cancel it”. Our vote is that the person who made this decision should be fired!! We too will hope that another network with some more intelligent people working for it will decide to pick it up. This is like a restaurant turning off the lights just as your dinner is served telling you to get up and leave because the restaurant has decided to close now. It makes no sense.

Please bring this show back!!! It was the only show I watched every week! I’m so sad it’s not on! Such a shame – how could they do this with out any closure? -I refuse to watch ABC – I’ll just watch other channels or read a book! Can’t we at least have the episodes on DVD?
I kept waiting for the show and wondering about when the show would return. I didin’t realize that it was canceled. That’s quite upsetting. It was a wonderful show, with well formed characters living out fantastically entertaining and moving stories. I truly am sadden by the discovery.
What a huge dissapointment!!! I too have been waiting patiently looking weekly for it on ABC to hopefully find out it was back for its 3rd season. I know this may sound a bit quirky; but I found the ending minute to be filled with such words of wisdom that each and every week, I wrote it down in my journal for years to come as tidbits of wisdom about life. I told you, it was quirky. The show was wholesome and light hearted and I am sooooo hoping that ABC can put it on its ABC Family channel and once again we loyal fans, be happy. It seems all the good shows, get taken off! It’s almost like, you have to have reality or smut to continue staying on air. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
I am soooooooo sad they cancelled Men in Trees, what a poor decision on abc’s half. This was the only quality show I could watch that was different, wholesome, and not everybody was sleepy with everybody else. Hopefully some other network will pick up this show, what a dissapointment.

I was so looking forward to a new season. What is wrong with you people? Please, please bring it back! It was one of my favorites, loved ALL the characters. Please try to get it back on!!!!!!! Thought this was a good, funny show. Just learned the show has been cancled. I was looking forward to the continued story line. So now what happens? Do we just finish the story in our own minds. You watch a program for two years and they cancle it without any finale. Thank god there are cable channels to watch.
So sad. Awesome show that never had a chance because we had to search and search weekly for it or wait for its return. As the storyline for TV’s hit shows (Greys had turned me off) get worse, MIT always kept me!
Ok, so I have been patiently waiting for MIT to come back and finally had to get online to figure out it was cancelled!! My husband loves this show (and that’s rare!) so it had to be good! I thought it was a wholesome, funny show and it will be sadly missed. I agree with the others that say: enough reality TV, bring back a real series with a real story line! It’s all getting to be crap!
OK……….and just like Lisa (above), I have been waiting for MIT to return and decided to check the Web. I CAN NOT believe one of the best shows on TV has been cancelled!!!!!! The characters were awesome and the story line was so much fun – why can’t they cancel some of these ridiculous reality shows that they keep scrounging up instead!!!!!!! MIT was one of the only down to earth night time soaps we had!

I really liked this show. I have been watching and waiting to see when it would come back — I finally googled it — great job ABC! You had a good show and you ruined it and my opinion of you has lessened.
