The Hills Again Leads Cable TV Time-Shifting

For the week of April 14-20, 2008, MTVs The Hills was again the top cable time-shifted show with an increase of 29.3% over its Live audience in its Live+7 viewing audience and an absolute time-shifted audience size of 1,012,000. Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch at number 2 was a newcomer to the top echelon of cable time-shifting with an 18.1% gain and a time-shifted audience size of 595,000.

Filling out the top 10 was two episodes of WWE Raw, five episodes of a USA NCIS marathon and an episode of Disney’s Spy Kids.
Just as the tide moves in and out, Spongebob absorbed 7 of the second 10 spots along with another NCIS, House and VH1’s Rock of Love 2.Our time-shifting chart ranks which of the Top 40 cable shows had the largest increase in viewing between Live audience and Live+7 audience numbers from viewers watching shows later on their digital video recorders (DVRs). We include both the absolute size of the time-shifted audience (and sort the chart by that metric), and the % increase over the Live viewing.
