The Office % Gain From DVR Viewing is the Largest We’ve Seen
This week’s (April 21-27, 2008) 43.4% audience gain by time-shifting by NBC’s The Office is the largest we’ve seen for any primetime broadcast show since we began publishing the site last September. Its audience increased by 43.4% over the 6.256 million that watched it Live giving it a Live+7 audience of 8.972 million.
CW’s Reaper was second with an increase of 35.3%. Rounding out the top 10 were Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Lost, America’s Top Model, My Name is Earl, One Tree Hill, Grey’s Anatomy and Beauty and the Geek.
The CW leads the list with 7 of the 20 top shows and has become somewhat of the “Must DVR” network. My guess is that it’s due to two factors (1) CW shows appeal to younger viewers who are more likely to use DVRs, and (2) CW shows are more likely to be “second choice” shows in their timeslots leading to more watching via DVR much later while the “top choice” show may get watched either Live or Live+SD (same day).

Frequent % DVR gain list residents, Eli Stone (ABC) [still "on the bubble" till tomorrow] and New Amsterdam (Fox) [just cancelled] weren’t broadcast that week.
The % Time-shifting table ranks which of the Top 150 broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest % increase in viewing between Live audience and Live+7 audience numbers from viewers watching shows later on their digital video recorders (DVRs).

Seems like the final live numbers are a little off. I saw that the final live numbers was 3.6 million not 3.3 million. What are the correct numbers?
my post is concerning Smallville
You were looking at LIVE plus SAME DAY DVR viewing (a healthy percentage of DVR viewing occurs in the overnight and weekly same day viewing stats).
I actually record The Office, so I can watch my favorite show, Supernatural.
I love Gossip Girl!
LindsayW, perhaps there is substantial overlap between Office/Supernatural boosting the DVRing of both!
Very possible, Bill!!!
Lindsay, as I noted in the “most DVRd shows overall” (raw numbers, not %) three of the top 7 shows are all on at the same time (Office, Grey's and CSI). Multiple DVRs are at work that hour at my house — though I watched this past Thrusday's Supernatural live!
