Posted on 19 June 2008 by Bill Gorman

Even though the season is “officially” over, technically the ratings never stop pouring in, so we will continue to track the season to date changes from 2006-7 to 2007-8 until the actual end of the season in September.

Our chart shows broadcast network prime-time season to date average prime-time viewership for the 2007-8 season compared to the 2006-7 season.

Kind of amazing that even though CBS had the Super Bowl last season, the CW's year-to-year percentage drops are STILL bigger. IMHO.

Travis, I agree. FYI, The best we can figure is that about ~5% of Fox's increase and ~5% of CBS's viewer decrease is due to the Super Bowl, but our methods are crude and involve removing the entire weeks worth of data [for the Super Bowl week] from their seasonal changes.
