FOX won another lame Saturday night with the time-tested duo of Cops and America’s Most Wanted. Normally, because it’s Saturday, and because it’s a Saturday in the middle of the summer there wouldn’t be a whole lot to say. And indeed, FOX was the only network to crack above a 1.0 rating among 18-49 year olds for the whole night.
And there really still isn’t much to say except for this: EliteXC Saturday Night Fights without any buzz surrounding Kimbo Slice performed much worse without Kimbo than it did with him. CBS initial foray into MMA didn’t draw a slew of viewers but at least performed well in the 18-49 and 18-34 demos.
That airing back on May 31, 2008 scored 4.3 million viewers and a 1.9/6 among 18-49 year olds and since the Kimbo Slice bout for that airing aired past primetime (11p) the most viewed portion wasn’t included. But lacking any Kimbo anticipation, last night’s fights pulled a mere 2.62 million and a 1.0/3 from 9pm-11pm.

1.5 million for Office is just horrible even on saturday
With the so called consistency of ABC running “some” family movie and CBS running “48 Hours” “somewhere” within the three hours of prime time and NBC probably running “a” “Law and Order” on Saturday no wonder the Fox duo of “Cops” and “America Most Wanted” does well. It is the only network programming on a Saturday night that you can depend upon.
Maybe if the viewers had been given a little more warning about the moving of Swingtown to Friday more people would have watched.
LOVE THE SHOW, was sad that I had to miss it, but was so glad to catch up online.
