Top Cable Networks Prime-time: USA & Total Day: Nickelodeon

For the week of August 4-10, 2008, USA Network yet again claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 2.75 million prime-time viewers.
Nickelodeon once again took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.30 million. USA was down about 10% versus last week, mostly resulting from competition from the Olympics on NBC for a few days and its Friday lineup of Monk and Psych especially taking a hit against the opening ceremonies.

Where is CNN and MSNBC?
Joe, not in the top 20 (which is all I had access to this week).
Funny thing is USA is part of the NBC Olympic brand so I dont understand why they would put new episodes of Monk and Psych on?
They actually did OK (all things considered) Psych still got 3.4 million, and the Sunday night lineup on USA performed admirably. On the one hand I am with you and jump to the place of “what were they thinking!?” On the other hand, I admire them for not completely throwing in the towel. I guess they can't mostly because none of their major cable competition is. A post with more numbers on the performance of some of Sunday night and Monday night's top cable shows before and during the Olympics is here:
