It’s hard to believe the show makes money. It has to be that production costs are really low. I don’t think there was a single CW, last season, that was able to charge over 100K per spot, outside of America’s Next Top Model… and ANTM saw ratings slide last spring.

It will be interesting to see Adage.com’s 2008-09 Average Advertising rates chart for primetime.

I think the shows will have higher ratings on a non-holiday Monday night.
Pretty good start, considering it was Labor Day.

we’re led to believe that they can charge a premium for the 18-34 female viewers and I’ve seen some other data that suggests advertisers certainly are definitely willing to pay a healthy premium for that target.

Sadly, the data we never see is how much does it cost to make the show vs. how much revenue does it generate. If I read the tea leaves correctly, at the level of the numbers cited above, the show makes money.

WTF?

How is that impressive at all?

considering the amount of marketing they’ve done for this show, including it’s expense. I expected at least a 5.0 share. this didn’t even crack 3.5.

Is Dawn&Co. really that deluded? I certainly hope TPTB can her. Because there is no way this should reflect as positive especially since this is a Season Premiere. It’s only going downhill after this.
