Playing hurt and in a windstorm, Ben Roethlisberger lead the Steelers to a gutsy win and NBC’s football lineup steamrolled the competition on Sunday night averaging 13.57 million viewers a demo adults 18-49 5.5 rating and a demo adults 18-34 rating of 4.9. Sunday Night Football was the most watched show of the night in all its hours peaking from 9-10 with 16.963 million viewers.
Assisted tremendously by an NFL overrun which boosted 60 Minutes reported numbers (see note on fast affiliate ratings below), a strong Big Brother and repeats CBS was second in average viewers with 10.136 million, the 18-49 demo with a 3.0 rating and the 18-34 demo with a 2.3 rating.
ABC, Fox and the CW were all repeats. I’m not one to read much into the performance of repeat episodes. Update: The Chicago CW affiliate broadcast the Cubs no hitter last night, not the CW network shows, expect that to lower the CW final results for the night.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Overnight Ratings: Local metered-market ratings service of Nielsen Station Index (NSI) in which household ratings and shares are provided to clients the morning following the day or evening of telecast. While routinely used for “next day” immediate analysis, these fast affiliate ratings are by process inaccurate for programs that air live across a network since they represent affiliate time period performance. For example, last night’s 10-11pm affiliate #’s would reflect 10pm on the East Coast but also 10pm on the West Coast which for a live event would not represent the same broadcast or portion of the broadcast.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
LIVE+SD: The number that watched a program either while it was broadcast OR watched via DVR on the same day [through 3AM the next day] the program was broadcast.

Fringe pulled in about 57 % of its premiere numbers, pretty impressive, hopefully this leads to higher viewership in week 2, especially with the ample lead-in support from House.
As much as anything in life can be guaranteed, I *guarantee* that Fringe’s second new episode ratings will be higher than its premiere ratings. How much higher and where that number goes for the third episode is what will be interesting.
Good numbers for the ladies of Wisteria Lane.
How big was the NFL overrun in CBS, because those are some VERY high Demo numbers for 60 Minutes. Though it’d be crazy of it was the #1 show for the week instead of Sunday Night Football.
And yeah, for an encore that’s a great number for Fringe. Tuesday’s numbers will indeed be interesting to see…
I know its rare for The CW do have impressive numbers(no, Gossip Girl and 90210 dont count), but they have to be liking those numbers for Privileged. 2 million for a show that just premired? Thats just 300,000 less than what it got for the premire. Now if only those people watched it in its actual time slot…
Jonathan it was around 45 minutes. Certainly the numbers for the Big Brother clip show will be adjusted down…
Jonathan, you can pretty much ignore the numbers for 60 Minutes and Big Brother in terms of comparing them to past shows. Those numbers are only useful to gauging how many people were tuned into CBS during those hours last night.
OTH numbers are missing…
whoops, I can’t edit the table right now but OTH had 1.303 million viewers and a 0.5/1 and 0.5/2 among 18-49 and 18-34 year olds respectively.
JM, mea culpa to you and all the other OTH fans out there. Table updated!
likw what charles said.. Privileged did really well
this just shows that its in the worng slot!
