I usually cut awards shows some slack because after all they really ARE for the nominees and the winners, but could they have made it more boring? Josh Groban’s musical montage was the highlight of the night.

I would rather have the Emmys run a bit over and BE entertaining. Did I miss something? Were there any good clips from the nominated shows? Were there any clips of any shows? The “tributes” to 60 Years of Television were badly executed.

The show was just pathetic. Don Rickles was funny though.

Outlander, you’re going to love Chuck. It’s quirky and it’s fun. With lots of humor and a hot chick kicking ass. It really sucks that it’s at the same time as TSCC.

As for Knight Rider… I actually liked the Pilot earlier this year. But from the series itself, I’ve seen a small promo and well… yuck. In the words of Cromartie though, “We’ll see…”

Outlander, from the reviews I’ve read, Knight Rider is going to suck. In fact it looks so bad I don’t even want to waste the time downloading the free premiere off iTunes. It’s even in HD, and I still don’t care.

That said, better numbers for Terminator can’t come soon enough. I’m hoping it’ll fare okay against tonight’s Heroes re-cap hour. Next week against Chuck is going to be tough. Fox seems to be ramping up some advertising though, from some boards I’ve been reading people were saying it was advertised once for every two/three Fringe ads yesterday. I think that’s more than they advertised the season premiere. Plus some other good news, there was a nice article in the New York Times about the show last week, and Summer is going to be in GQ magazine.

I love Amanda Tapping and hope Sanctuary is a big success. But didn’t Sanctuary start out as a super-low budget web-based program? Then didn’t it get overhauled to be a TV show? I’ll watch it, but I’m reminded of Painkiller Jane and Flash Gordon…and that scares me.

Julia, my guess is your work doesn’t flush its DNS cache regularly. That’s the only thing I can think of. The web allows me to ping the site virtually from around the world, and everywhere I look it’s now pointing to the right information. But I believe that despite this certain locations and ISPs are still pointing to the old DNS because of cahce settings. Hopefully that will all take care of itself on its own in short order, but sorry.

P.S. the new site design is much more iPhone friendly, but hopefully you have a new 3G iPhone. I stll have my 1.0 version and it’s not very fast when accessing via the Edge network.

The early numbers for the Emmys last year from Berman were at 10.6/16, so…that’s not good at all. Football, on the other hand, is about 25% above what it was estimated at last year, so over 19 million is possible.

But is anyone shocked, at all?

“The Intersect” itself is complete science fiction(unless you’re a conspiracy theorist who believes such tech exists and the government has such technology but hides it from us!). But I agree, it’s not a science fiction show.

I wouldn’t even say there’s any SciFi-ish element to Chuck at all. The only reason one might say there is is due to the whole government conspiracy thing that is so prevalent in SciFi shows.

Outlander, though there is a very small SciFi-ish element to Chuck, it’s definitely not a SciFi show, but action/comedy. The show it reminds me most of is Burn Notice, though targeted just a little bit younger. It’s a fun show though.

Not anxious to see what Sanctuary is all about on SciFi? the promos for during Stargate Atlantis didn’t really inspire me much, but….

You’re killing me here. My precious Terminator is probably going to get bounced when its 13 eppy run ends in November. Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica both have been canceled. So this leaves me with Knight Rider, Fringe, and freaking Dollhouse for my scifi fixes. (I don’t do Lost, and will begrudgingly get into Chuck once TSCC is formally canceled). If you’re telling me that the Knight Rider show is just as atrocious as its two-hour miniseries event last year, you’re basically saying I’m banished to watching … reality shows.

Say it ain’t so!

Julia, 1990, with an 8.2/14. Last year was close, 8.4/14, but a household ratings point meant more households last year than it did in 1990 but for now 1990 is the low in both rating and viewers.

Well, I’m finally convinced I should check out Mad Men, so it may gain at least a few more viewers after last night. Now if only any non-30 Rock watchers would do the same…

Do you have the data on what the household rating was for the lowest rated Emmys? I know these numbers will probably change, but it would still be interesting to compare.

Truly, it was one of the worst moments of television I’ve ever witnessed, and keep in mind that I just watched the first episode of NBC’s new version of "Knight Rider."
