Sunday Night Football again dominated the primetime weekly charts, this time with 22.23 million people. As a diehard Washington Redskins fan it’s somewhat discomfiting to me that any game featuring the Dallas Cowboys seems to be a ratings juggernaut. The Cowboys’ claim to “America’s Team” does not appear to be unfounded, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones probably wishes he could end-around the league and do some gazillion dollar exclusive with Sunday Night or Monday Night Football. It would make me throw up a little in my mouth, but hey, Notre Dame does it with its college rights (and they haven’t even been very good lately!) and there is no doubt in my mind that the networks would pay huge rights fees for a Dallas Cowboys exclusive if they could get it.
House and 60 Minutes were strong and note, that even with all the football overrun stripped out of it, 60 Minutes was a top ten show among 18-49 year olds. But yeah, the NFL lead-in doesn’t hurt any! Fringe had a good week, #5 overall and #4 among 18-49 year olds. It beat the Emmys in both categories. I think how it does tonight (9/23) tells the true tale for Fringe. We look forward to seeing the results. CBS’ Flashpoint went out strong and will be back…
The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards didn’t wind up being the least-viewed EVER (sorry Julia) but it came close to the record low viewers of 1990 (12,299,566), though this year’s edition just barely squeaked past it with 12.339 million.
A couple of notes: the number four show (Sunday Night Pre-Kick) had a duration of only eight minutes. The eighth show (Football Night in America, Pt 3) had a duration of 17 minutes. The number 15 show NFL “Post-Gun” on Fox was listed with a duration of 5 minutes by Nielsen but it was various teams and times depending on what game was actually on in various parts of the country.
If you don’t see an 18-49 ranking it merely means the show was not among the top 30 shows among 18-49 year olds for the week.

Well, this list makes House look a little more impressive.
And I was so close.
I doubt House will look as impressive when everything else has new episodes instead of reruns.
Very true. DWTS is already far ahead of where it could hope to be tomorrow.
House against re-runs, not a realistic picture of the new season. We already know Grey’s, NCIS & a host of other shows beat House when it ran against their premiers this week. Housewives hasn’t even aired yet. I’ll be surprised if House makes top 15 given how it slid this week.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the “House” numbers go up in the next couple weeks. It also seems like “Fringe” is doing pretty well for itself now too, and those numbers may increase even more yet.
Rick, The numbers for the week after what is shown here are down for both shows. House fell to 12 million/5.1 and Fringe to 9 million/4.1. Still, it is possible House will rebound a bit next week since that 12 million was against the premeire of NCIS, which resolved a major cliffhanger.
