9/26 Update: It’s official, Do Not Disturb is cancelled.
Michael Ausiello at EW.com is reporting that:
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the critically savaged sitcom, starring a slumming Jerry O’Connell and Niecy Nash, has been axed after three low-rated episodes. The show’s Wednesday time slot will be filled with repeats of ‘Til Death, which upgrades the network’s 9 to 10 p.m. comedy block from excruciatingly painful to unbearably painful. (And yes, that is an upgrade, albeit a very slight one.)
A Fox insider insists no official decision has been made re: Do Not Disturb’s fate.
And to think that I called it the most likely new fall show to be a big flop. And the fact that Fox has made no comment is meaningless. The “stealth” cancel is typical of them.
Check out its first and second weeks numbers, and the overnights for its presumably final episode.

‘Til Death’s ratings aren’t much better.
Gee, if Wednesday night is crashing, and it looks like Fox isn’t going to have anything to air from 9-10… Can we think of any shows Fox might have in its lineup that would do MUCH better if not competing against Monday Night Football? Any at all?
why do people get such joy when a show is canceled? i think it sucks for the writers, production crew, actors getting their big break, assistants… etc. i’ve never seen this show but hasn’t anyone noticed this? it’s like fans of heroes hopes lost tanks, fans of csi want grey’s to do poorly (or vise versa). since so much attention now is paid to ratings… it’s become a contact sport in need of winners and losers.
Poor Molly Stanton. From a really funny, though cancelled after 17 episodes, show
TWINS to this unwatchable mess.

Aw, it was the only new multi-camera sitcom premiere. You gotta give sitcoms more of a chance than that. They gave Kelsey’s show a whole season last year.
I think there might have been something here.
Fox should axe “Till Death” and replace the Wed 9:00 slot with “Terminator”
This time last year, BTY was doing mutch beter. More than Doubly than DND. FOX should be ashamed of themselfs for cancelling BTY.
I really hope that Fox will move Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles from its Monday night slot to the 9pm slot after Bones on Wednesdays. That would be an excellent lead-in for TSCC and it would surely retain more of Bones’ viewers than DND or ‘Til Death.
Why don’t they show repeats of “Back to You” which was a lot funnier than the two awful shows Til Death and Do not disturb.
What is the deal with Til Death anyway–I don’t understand why FOX keeps it on.
what makes this “comedy block” so bad is that Bones brings in 9 to 10 mil. viewers and DND and ‘Till Death can’t retain half of those viewers, if the do decide to move TSCC to wed night, the problem is what possible show could be moved to fill the 8pm time slot on monday nights, that would be interesting to discuss
Actually I think what’s been hurting FOX is the loss of 24. That show used to anchor their Mondays and helped advertise for their shows later in the week.
When it returns they need to put it at 8pm on Mondays, and use the strength of those numbers to help Fringe face off against Heroes. In the meantime, there is no reason why FOX shouldn’t put Terminator on Wednesdays with Bones. Terminator would do well in the 9pm spot.
Frank i agree 100% but the problem is there are no options for fox because 24 wont becoming back any time soon. So by moving TSCC, they create a hole in the 8pm slot with no real option to fill it
I think they could leave Prison Break on Monday’s, put it at 8pm. Or put House on Monday’s with Fringe for now. House and Fringe could survive against Football and Heroes. And House doesn’t compete with Chuck for the same viewers, which is unfortunately something Terminator will do. And I have to say, Chuck is a great show, I don’t want to see it’s ratings hurt either.
At least Niecy Nash can do Reno 911! again now.
I totally agree with you frank and terminator should be placed on wednesdays when 24 returns that way fox can put it back mondays at 8 and get rid of til’death making the whole hour available but i think in the meanwhile fringe should swap timeslots with terminator on mondays that show has alot of potential, i have no idea why fox would place it on monday night with the competition being so extreme placing a rookie show with already established hits?! fox should of known that by placing terminator on that time it wouldn’t get high ratings like the 1st season did they should of expected this kind of hit when placing it on monday night especially with monday night football taking alot of viewers from the 8:30 slot.
Let me know if this worries any of you…
I was in the mood to make fun of people last night, so I watched both episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. During both episodes, the only Fox shows to be advertised included Animation Domination and Fringe.
Fox should move its dopey comedy reruns to Monday nights and just concede. Foz’s entire strategy is to attract 18-49 viewers. Monday Night Football grabbed 12 million viewers on Monday. (http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/media_entertainment/sports-wrap-ryder-without-tiger-cowboys-and-packers%e2%80%99-big-score-yankee-stadium-finale/#more-1581) They don’t show the 18-49 demo numbers, but I suspect a high percentage of its viewers fit that demo. In short, it’s a giant sponge that soaks up a very high percentage of that demo. And each of the other broadcast nets are competing for the balance.
In short, I don’t think there’s anything Fox could put on Mondays at 8 that would grab any larger ratings share (esp in the 18-49 demo) than Terminator… But, moving Terminator to Weds. at 9:00 would likely increase the 18-49 demo share Fox gets on that night. So, it’s a trade-off. And I want me more Summer, so chop chop, Fox!
Maybe FOX could put Jerry OConnell in SLIDERS II – maybe that would work. Jerry has had a rough time with 2 bombs in a row, this thing and Car Poolers.
“Actually I think what’s been hurting FOX is the loss of 24. That show used to anchor their Mondays and helped advertise for their shows later in the week.”
Huh? 24 hasn’t been a fall show since 2004. How does its absence now hurt Wednesday nights?
I’m going to go with Andrea on this one. Fox did just fine last fall without 24. In fact, last fall Fox was quite competetive with the big 3 networks without having 24 or AI to prop up its ratings. FOX’s problem isn’t that 24 isn’t coming back until spring, it’s that all their shows (with the exception of Bones) are down considerably from last year.
i think that fox should cancel til’death because lets face it it’s going downhill, with that whole hour open they can move T:SCC on that timeslot banking huge numbers for T:SCC and BONES wich could exceed 12 million viewers on those two hours alone and show reruns of 24 on monday night until the season premiere in november wich i think can withstand the onslaught of that already crowded night somehow i think this change wouldn’t be to difficult for fox to pull off
Even a House rerun would be a good enough lead-in to Prison Break on Mondays, usually House reruns can pull between 7-8 million viewers.
what they should do is move the gameshows back to thursday night, Put Termanator in Wednesday @ 9:00, put Hole in the Wall, Moment Of Truth and Til Death in Friday, and move Kitchen Nightamres to Monday @ 8.
R.J – Fox fridays already accomodate 5th Grader & Don’t forget the lyrics.:p
No, I mean but them back to thursday nights. Put Hole in Friday, And Kitchen Nightmares Monday At 8.
