It’s really not news saying baseball isn’t the national pastime. Only the die hards ( like Costas )and old timers still say it is. Maybe those beat reporters also say it because they make their living following it for 7 months. Football caught up to Baseball in the 60’s with the Packers and slowly through the years the gap has widened. Anyone who deals with TV ratings knows thats a fact.

Dexter, I do not recall seeing any prison break promos either. House, Fringe (lots of Fringe!) and 24 Redemption are the only ones I recall seeing….

I’d love to know how MRC financially modeled their Sunday nights. Did they assume the same performance as the CW last year? If so, they’re disappointed. But if they modeled a drop from CW’s results from last season, then they might OK with the results. Of course unless an insider wants to let us know, we will keep wondering, because everything they say publicly is all sunshine and roses

Who knows, maybe MRC will stick with it, or CW will offer them a bargain for Friday nights too!

Paltry as last night was (CW averaged 830,000 according to Berman) that’s only around a couple hundred thousand less than CW averaged last year at this time when it was programming the night itself — though as a percentage, that’s still a pretty steep drop.

Good point Dave, thanks. Mystery solved. If the Cardinals can push the Giants to overtime as they did with the Cowboys, “24 Redemption” will have a huge lead-in. At worst, it will have “The OT” as its lead-in.

24 is off the air since May 2007 ! FOX wants people to know that Jack Bauer is back. And last seasons, they promoted 24 since late october for a launch in January. Moreover, we all know that TSCC is dead, so it’s better to don’t lose time promoting it.

There is football on 11/23 and Fox currently has two games in the 4:15pm slot — but I do not know if it’s a national doubleheader for them that will air everywhere, my guess is yes as one of the games involves the New York Giants (playing the same Cardinals that beat Dallas in overtime yesterday).

One thing that surprised me is just how much Fox has been pimping the 24 movie. It’s not even on for a month and a half and they are promoting the hell out of it. I recall seeing NO promotion for Terminator: TSCC, but the 24 movie on November 23 I saw many times…

Huge rating for FOX overrun football. Does somebody know if there is football on november 23rd, the day of the 24 prequel ? It could be a huge lead-in and there is no Desperate this day.
