Pink Bear: Too bad for you that Fox consistently ranks at the top all day long. Kinda puts a kink in your pox-on-their-house plan. Since the early days of illegals marching on our towns demanding rights they don not have, Americans have found their voice and will beat down any move to limit our free speech. A few hours of phone calls flooding the Congressional switchboard will do the job.
Don't get too cocky, honey!

Pink Bear... *Sigh* You really need to do at least a few minutes of research before posting stuff like that. The FCC has NO CONTROL over cable. They can only regulate communications that take place over the public airwaves (Broadcast TV and terrestrial radio)
Plus, that would make the FCC, I believe, a very political body. As it is, its a 5 member committee. Only 3 can be from the same political party, but if they can suddenly make calls on fairness, I shudder to think what the result will be.
The market place of ideas has failed, I grant you that. But it failed because those who keep it running are fewer and fewer. We need a strong news organization or personality to force the others to climb back from this abyss. You can't force the marketplace to be fair, especially with the internet and sat. radio.

It's great to read that Pink Bear is such a "broad-minded" liberal and not so narrow as those conservatives. Nice to read tht Pink Bear doesn't want a free exchange of ideas with a free media and press and then allow the reader/listener decide. Comforting to know that such a democrat as Pink Bear wants to stiffle freedom.... oh, that sounds like what the "liberal and tolerant" regimes of so many rogue nations want. - Sorry, Pink Bear for a moment there you sounded like the red (not pink) despots of the old bear of the Soviet Union tried.

SHOULD Barack Obama win the presidency and Democrats take full control of Congress, next year we'll see a real legislative attempt to bring back the Fairness Doctrine - and to diminish conservatives' influence on broadcast radio, the one medium they dominate.

I'm hoping he brings the hammer down hard on Fox too.
