Sports Junkies Are Channel Changers

Posted on 17 October 2008 by Robert Seidman

I meant to post this yesterday but then my Comcast high speed internet went away for five plus hours – thankfully the cable TV service didn’t go out with it…

This is no surprise there but Nielsen did a neat little post yesterday about how 37.8% of last Sunday’s Sunday Night Football audience watched at least 6 minutes of the Phillies/Dodgers game on Fox and how 48% of the baseball audience watched at least six minutes of the Sunday Night Football game.

I find this sort of data very interesting (I know, I’m weird), but I’d like for example to see what % of all the Thursday night broadcast shows wound up somehow finding TBS on their system and took in part of the Red Sox/Rays game last night.  So much data, so little of it at our disposal… Sigh.

Here’s the post from Nielsen, it has a chart that’s worth looking at if you’re a chart lover.
