Kristin Dos Santos at E! Online is reporting that NBC has requested nine more episodes of the new Knight Rider series, meaning that there will be a full first season of the show.
Our Renew / Cancel Index currently has Knight Rider lasting until the end of the season, so that’s not a big surprise to our readers.

Unless the numbers improve, then I agree. KR will not see a second season. Keep in mind that any version of KR is down right escapism and not a well acted, well written show.
Don, I agree, but the problem is that the lead characters need that sort of special charisma that guys like William Shatner or David Hasselhoff have in order to pull off cheesy escapism well. The Knight Rider guys just don’t have it.
NBC (Nothing But Crap) is a dying network – keeping a show like Knight Rider on with its low ratings means they have nothing to replace it with. Even HEROES is sucking wind these days – its still watchable, but just barely. The only other good show left on NBC is The Office and even that is less interesting than it used to be.
Foo Man, there’s no arguing the fourth place status, and as much as I hate to admit it, I agree with you about Heroes. I’ve hung on to Heroes like a bad relationship (though I thought last night’s episode was the most watchable in ages).
w/a show like Knight Rider there are other factors at play — the show is strong among the young male demos, often beating Bones. We also have no idea what Ford is paying NBC for the massive product placement in this case. I’d guess given the success w/young men, Ford is pretty happy with the arrangement, but what that means for NBC in $$$ I have no idea. If anyone does, please let us know.
Seems like NBC and the other networks are serious about sticking it out with what they have. I haven’t actually watched Knight Rider. I tried, but I couldn’t get through the previews on iTunes. Even when the first episode was free I just couldn’t do it.
Heroes…eh… I am so very disappointed in that show. I loved the first season, it was so well done. But it’s like they’re just trying too hard now. It’s not smart, it’s annoying and stupid.
The only show left on NBC worth watching is Chuck. Last night’s episode was just the icing on top of an excellent season so far. I am hoping for a ratings uptick with it and Terminator.
Heroes is still a GREAT show and every week it gets better and better. It amazes me how many people just latch on to a great show at the beginning and then drop it. This season in my opinion is just as good as season one. Keep watching people, this show is on a roll!
Terence, get a hold of yourself. The thing season one did an incredibly good job with was managing the balance of good and evil — it was George Lucas, “The Empire Strikes Back” balance. Last night’s episode seemed like the first this season that attempted to have any balance at all. Up until then, it was all Darth Vader, all the time — and without James Earl Jones’ voice and light sabers, it just isn’t as “impressive”.
i kinda like knight rider. granted the show does suck but there is something about it thats entertaining. oh and how come the show looks so cheap?
Hey, I am happy for Knight Rider to be picked up ! I am sick of reality and game shows…I like this show!
