I’ve checked out several shows on Fox and truly believe they are virtually worthless as a news source. The talking points and the repeating of outright (provable)lies and constant innuendo (who is Obama? What do we REALLY know about him? Ugh..the worst journalism in the country).
I’ll always stay with MSNBC–especially Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow–for my news; they give facts;verifiable, true facts…it’s so wonderful to just hear the truth and not all the smarmy, race-baiting rhetoric of Fox. Now, they’re just going to be back-peddling like crazy about Obama, and no one with a respectable IQ is going to fall for any ‘changes’ they may make. The damage is done,Fox. I’ll never trust any of you liars again–ever.

What is disengenuous about your comments is that one does not have to look hard to see numerous blogs and even many top level reporters and EVEN Mr. Olberman himself who peddaled the idea that although the Palin skits were funny they portrayed accurately the “troubling side of her deficeits.”
You need to not be so patronizing as to suggest that your comment:

That is not at all what was said about Palin….”accurate depiction” was the liberal catch phrase. And it was never said by you sir that Palin was being honored for making such a “huge impact on society.”

My point is that it was amazing that SNL actually portrayed the nut cake Olberman that GE fired. It was his ranting “Eviscerated on all fronts” monolouge on the night of the Republican Convention complete with melodramatic and praticed head spin that got his butt canned from any future Election Anchoring. Matthews got the boot too, but it was all based on Olbermann’s rant. That is a matter of record reported by the AP.

Olbermann’s unfairness and his bizarre paranoias are legendary. For that to have been portrayed to the degree that it was with the depth of writing is just as noteworth as the Palin spoofs. You may not realize it with a name like whatliberalmedia…..but if you go back and read many of the articles from the time Olberman was fired you will see that it is a matter of record that there are high level people who called for his head. And they were in fact the big guys at GE who were catching hell from stockholders furious over Olberman.

It was nothing wrong in me saying that I think it accurately portrayed Olbermann’s dark side that everyone, except synchopants, but even including Tom Brokaw have publicly reprimanded him for.

Olbermann is an anomaly. My prediction is that he will go out on top. He is rising there is no doubt. But he is not apparently playing with a full deck. He has many enemies and with a habbit of mocking people on a regular basis that is no wonder……but the point that was amazing about the SKIT was that it showed what many who are observing this nut already know. Olbermann is his own worst enemy.

Yeah, things were going well under Clinton, and we were running a surplus. We also had a Republican House and Senate at the time also. The last two times we had a Dem House and Senate, as well as a Dem President (Dem-Dem-Dem), were the first two years of Clinton’s first term, and the 4 years that Carter was in office.

People were so happy with the Dem-Dem-Dem setup during Clinton’s first two years, that in the 94 mid-terms, the Rep’s gained 54 house seats, 8 senate seats, and 12 governor seats.

During Carter’s four years (again, entirely Dem-Dem-Dem), the economy was bad. I don’t really remember that era, as I was born in ‘78.

It wasn’t until the Rep’s took over both houses of congress that things turned around. Why does Clinton get all the credit? Shouldn’t the credit be shared?

Yes, it is a business, and they are out to make money. However, I don’t base how good a network (or a particular show) is by the amount of ad revenue they generate. I care about demos when I am here to see if T:SCC will be stay on the air, but when discussing who has the BEST (not most profitable) news show, demographics don’t play into the discussion. More “people” watch O’reilly, but even that isn’t very important. Bill allows opposing viewpoints on his show. Olbermann does not. How can you possibly have a fair show, if you only give one viewpoint? Also, we will see how well Olbermann does after Obama takes office. With nobody to beat up on, I feel he numbers will drop down big time.

While I don’t support Obama, I do hope things go well under his administration. I don’t think they will, as a Dem-Dem-Dem setup is likely to cause massive spending increases (just as a Rep-Rep-Rep setup has). The best times we had were when we had a Dem in the White House, and Reps in the House and Senate. Unfortunately, we are in for massive changes for at least two years, as there will be no opposition for the Dems. I prefer having the power split.

For the record, I am not a Republican. I am an Independent (or “decline to state”, as they say here in California). I do not have blind faith in any one side. I have not been happy with Bush, and I believe change is needed.

I consider myself a conservative leaning centrist, and I try to view everything from an independent standpoint. Many people watch MSNBC “because” they are liberal, or Fox “because” they are conservative. I step back and try to watch both, knowing that each are going to lean one way. After watching both for a while, it is clear to me that MSNBC (or more specifically Olbermann) leans farther to the left than Fox does to the right.

This SNL skit was truly amazing. I seldom watch SNL but I just happened to tune in last night. I thought when the skit first came on it would be a fluff piece for Olbermann. I was truly stunned! It depicted the Olberman that I think truly exist. A man so in love with himself and his own perceived wittiness that he does not realize what an idiot .. a twisted demented idiot he comes off as. He at times seems slightly deranged. Rupert Murdoch who fired Olberman years ago said he was crazy.
Afleck presented a piece that no conservative could have gotten away with. It showed his melodramatic obsessions his paranoia, his adolescent obsession with harrassing anyone he deems as competion or who does not like him.
This skit even detailed how it does not matter what Bush says it is evidence of the need to bring him up on charges.
The executives at GE need to study that skit and see the message in it. It was not just funny…it was bone chillingly insightful.
I was amazed at Afleck’s intensity…..
If SNL presented even handed portrayals of the left like that on a regular basis then their ratings would blow through the ceiling.
I imagined Olberman in his house, throwing furniture around and spewing profanity and thinking of how to bring Afleck up on charges and who at Newsweek he could get to agreee with him…and then in the midst of his rage…pausing only to glance in the mirror…and then be soothed by the thought that maybe congressional hearings would reveal if O’Rielly was responsible and thus the end of Fox News all for making fun of he who cannot be challanged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe a bunch of almost illerates determined who is appointed to the supreme court who is going to be the leader of the Rethug party etc. These people are barely literate … dont know much about the constitution, laws, principles and fundamentals of our civilized society …. the core of our democracy. No wonder they find it so easy to trash the Habeas Corpus. They undermined habeus corpus and in my opinion should be tried for treason.

CNN is way too center … MSNBC on the left is what gives balance to Faux News.

You claim CNN is Clinton News Network … when a president did awesome things you can be fair and praise him. Did’nt we have surplus under President Clinton. Did we have a vibrant and growing and properous time. So it was actually fair to praise Clinton. Right wing propoganda makes you believe anything good done by a liberal is actually bad and thus CNN was Clinton News Network. In actuality its the Rethugs who have no morals and no aptitude to see or understand what is good for the country and define everything in narrow political terms and paint any good done by a liberal as bad and then defame any organization which highlights that good as in case of a completely and truly fair and balanced network like CNN. That is exactly why we need MSNBC …. to really show what the liberal bias is so that the coward Rethugs know how CNN is actually fair! haha

And you are wrong. I care about total viewers. The American people are not advertisers. It doesn’t matter what demographic advertisers care about. It helps the networks decide which shows to keep due to ad revenue, but that is a different issue than whose show is more popular overall. A LOT more people watch Bill’s show. That is just a fact. Just because somebody is under 25, or over 54, doesn’t mean they don’t matter anymore.

Obama’s aunt needs a place to live also. It’s a world community out here people. Immigrants from every country should be welcome.

The waredrobe issue, Palin’s dumbness, McCain’s erratic behavior, Vetting of Palin, Todd’s Traitor tendencies etc. would never have received review and constant coverage if it were’nt for MSNBC. Faux barely covered that story and other networks and CNN covered it mainly because MSNBC was getting good ratings covering it so they jumped on the bandwagon.

Again Jim NO ONE cares about the total viewers … more geezers for O’Reilly is not a big deal! The ad rates depend on the key demo and as it stands today MSNBC is in a position to charge higher ad rates than Faux News and since cable channels are commmercial enterprise revenues and thus profits is their sole goal (could be propoganda in Faux’s case) and at that MSNBC should now start handily beating Faux Noise.

Also I hear for certain reliable sources that Rosie O Donald and Bill Maher are in talks with MSNBC and with them added to the line up expect audiences to explode even more and Faux rendered as an inconsequential propoganda outfit.

Now, MSNBC has Olbermann and Matthews. Those guy are further to the left than O’reilly is to the right. Olbermann doesn’t even put anyboy on his show who disagrees with him. Say what you will about Fox. At least they put on people with opposing viewpoints

Anybody who doesn’t see that MSNBC is at LEAST as biased as Fox News, has been blinded by their hatred of conservatism. Both channels are biased! MSNBC more so. Why is it that only Fox gets called out on it? If you want fair and impartial news, why don’t you call out MSNBC for their biased reporting as well?

I saw Olbermann bragging yesterday how his show beat O’reilly’s show 7 out of the last 13 days in the demo. He called Bill out for asking for an investigation into the numbers. Olbermann said Bill was number 2 because “you suck”. Well, he should probably have mentioned that 7 out of 13 is not a big victory, and that the numbers are exremely close in the demographic. However, in TOTAL viewers, Olbermann gets CRUSHED by O’reilly. Because he squeaks by in a demo, he thinks he is the new king. Somebody should tell him that many more people watch the other guy.

Could be also said as yeah Faux gives both sides of lies. A small lie and a bigger lie.
