Wow, CBS has 9 of the total top 20 shows but only 3 on the coveted 18-49 demographic? And NBC has zero top 20 shows but holds onto 5 shows in in the key demos here? Good for “The Office” and “30 Rock!” Hopefully “Heroes” will right itself soon, holding its demographic ratings and rebuilding its total viewership.

This chart might look a whole lot different without sports, for FOX, NBC, and even (to a smaller extent) ABC!

  2. clutz, not exactly. CBS had eight in the overall list (which has now been updated — I think you may have been looking at the prior week) and NBC had two shows — both Sunday Night Football related in the overall list.

I’m sorry but there has to be somebody at FOX that sees that King Of The Hill airing at 12th and is shaking their heads in disbelief. What the hell were they thinking? I’m absolutely inclined to believe the KOTH cancellation had nothing to do with the creative team wanting out. If that were the case, they would have openly admitted it beforehand and prepared a suitable final episode. They didn’t and an interview with Kathy Najimy also said nothing on the matter. FOX really thinks they can do better with Cleveland, or (highly unlikely) Sit Down, Shut Up. Perhaps they will, perhaps they won’t…but that’s certainly a needless risk to take. Worst case, if one of those new series is a hit, you can burn off your extra KOTH episodes at 7:30 in the Winter/Spring. If both are a hit, cycle one in when American Dad is airing reruns. If neither is a hit, at least you have KOTH as backup.

  4. Bill Gorman says:

DDK, the last show for KotH on Fox won’t be till sometime next fall. How can you possibly know what’s been planned for it? As for what they were thinking, it’s likely some combination of:

    1. We don’t want to pay what the producers are demanding.
    2. We can put another animated show in that slot and get the same or better ratings.
    3. The producers have become a problem, let’s just get rid of them.
    4. A million other things.

  5. Dennis says:

Wow, The Simpsons really surprise me. I know Fox promoted it a lot, but 12.5 million?!? That’s brilliant
