Posted on 25 November 2008 by Bill Gorman

For the week of November 17-23, ESPN ranked #1 in primetime in basic cable averaging 2.756 million viewers, followed by USA with 2.676 million.

Nickelodeon as always took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.232 million, followed by Nick at Nite with 1.438 million.

Because the chart above is only advertising supported cable networks, Disney channel is omitted. Here are their numbers for the week: (I don’t have the Disney numbers yet, I will update the chart later when I do)

  1. David says:

I think this is one of the most interesting lists that you publish every week because I mainly watch these cable channels. I found last weeks list especially interesting because it included the obscure digital cable channels that I enjoy watching.

  2. Casey Abell says:

Yep, the previous week’s list was really interesting because it included many more networks. It would be great to see those more inclusive numbers every week. Is that possible?

  3. Bill Gorman says:

Casey, David, the long list came late and I put this one up in it’s place. I’ll post the longer list next week.

In the meantime, if there were particular cable nets you were interested in leave a comment and I will post their data.

  4. Casey, it is possible, but it’s also possible Nielsen will shut our site down for giving away data they don’t want freely posted. Bill is more of a “maverick” than I am, but if he posts them, I may turn around and pull them down since in general, these posts (even with the massive list) don’t get much traffic so it isn’t worth risk of losing access to data to please the people who care (though I agree it’s very interesting data).
