CBS, ABC, Fox Still Hold Season To Date Honors

Posted on 26 November 2008 by Bill Gorman

After 9 weeks of the 2008-9 season through November 23, 2008, CBS holds the largest season to date average audience with 11.45 million viewers, followed by ABC with 10.16 million. CBS also has the most average adults 25-54 with 5.00 million, again followed by ABC with 4.62 million.

In the advertising prized 18-49 demo, ABC holds the tiniest of leads over CBS with 4.10 million vs. 4.08 million, followed by Fox with 3.81 million and NBC with 3.70 million. At this point in the season, the differences in the key 18-49 demo are still quite small among the top 4, that’s likely to begin shifting after NBC’s Sunday Night Football ends (although it will get a giant boost from the Super Bowl) and Fox gains American Idol and 24 in early 2009.

Fox holds the highest average (1.81 million) for adults 18-34 followed by NBC in second with 1.68 million and ABC a tick behind in third with 1.67 million.

  1. Wow those are really interesting figures especially the 18-34 demo. Even though NBC and FOX are 4th and 3rd respectively in the covetted 18-49 demo, they are in a close battle for the 18-34 crown.
