Hey there silentviewer, I think I recognize your handle. Sorry to hear that you are out of work, in any case.

I still love Jericho and I am watching it in reruns. I believe it was longtime supporting actor Bruce Campbell who noted the following in his book "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor." Bruce was discussing his failed Fox TV series, "Adventures of Briso County Jr." He said something like this:
[paraphrased]
"I enjoyed Brisco County. Even if you're in the lowest rated show on the networks, you've still got over a million fans watching!"
Bruce is gracious to his fanbase. He makes me feel better about being in the uncounted masses. I'd rather be one in a million on Nielsen, than one in the 20-million sea of people. That's a bit crowded :)

Good afternoon I know I was not counted neither were my friends and family. They are not Nielsen families. I cannot believe after all this time everyone is counted on this antiquated system for measuring viewership. No I am not a cry baby or a crazy person because I am a loyal viewer of this show. As news unfolds just like the report that was given to Vice President elect Biden about by the year 2013 the United states will have had either a Nuclear blast or Bio hazard Terrorist attack on our soil. This news came accross as an Associated Press realease in Washington DC. I am now under the opinion That this show hits closer to home than many American and loyal viewers want to believe and now I believe more than ever thay want to bury us. This not like 24 hour were Jack Bauer saved the day. I am now out of work American and the company I work for has not ever farmed out jobs to Mexico or China but has had to try to compete in a world were most things are made outside this country and imported in. We can not compete with these imports when their workers make .35 to 1.00 an hour wage.
Still stand that it is Americans that are putting Americans out of busy from the upper Managemnet like what is going on with auto industry who have continued to draw large bonuses at the end of the year. While laying off us the workers.

Joe Cool, you do not have your facts straight. The $1.4 million was the Comcast offer in said rumor. Rumor is that the producers of "Jericho" would not lower the cost to that exact figure - not "way less than" it. I have no idea where you got your 50% figure. Probably pulled it out of your a**?

I have never seen a published rating of Sci-Fi reruns of Jericho. Nor have I ever seen any published articles noting that "low ratings" was their reason for cancelling the repeats. Sci-Fi is notorious for cutting shows off midstream simply to try something different. The only claims I have ever read regarding Sci-Fi ratings and Jericho reruns were made by you, Mr. Cool, and Soylent3 on the Jericho board. Publish actual facts from confirmed sources, and I'll believe your stories.

In any case, the Sunday fast nationals are in (new blog post on the site). looks like Jericho took a dip of a little less than 10% in total viewers, and held is tiny 0.4/1 in the 18-49 demo. So it did NOT fall 30%, and it still beats the MRC ratings!

It was great to see Terry O'Quinn and D.B. Sweeney together in "Cutting Edge" last night too. :)

Its possible Jericho was impacted a little, but football on FOX always runs past 7pm.

What matters is the trend over the next several weeks. The trend is not usually Jericho's friend. If it slips much farther it will meet the same fate it did on SCI-FI channel when rerun rating dropped so low they stopped Season 1 after only 15 episodes back in March '08. DVR stats wont matter with ratings this low.

Theres a rumor going around Jerichos production company tried to cut a deal with COMCAST to make new episodes for 50% less than Season 2 (which cut the Season 1 budget) with a deal similar to Friday Night Lights and Direct TV/NBC. COMCAST wanted cost to go even lower to something way less than $1.4 million per episode! Probably under $1 million. That would have been total crap as the production values would resemble 1970s Dr. Who episodes and most of the cast gone or replaced with unknowns.

Jericho dropped 30%? Gee, thats a suprise..... Is Moonlight next at bat in the CW parade of failed CBS shows? Then Swingtown? The Kitchen Sink? Wait, that sounds like the name of the next CW sitcom featuring the trials and tribulations of Joe The Plumber as Obama operatives dig thru his trash.

The Pittsburgh "Stillers" put on a much better show anyway. I love it when Dallas loses.

I know I have no right to ask, but it sure would be nice to see half-hourly info for all the networks to theoretically account for football overrun. Did other nets bounce up a little at 7:30?

Fanatic that I am, I suspect the football overrun negatively impacted "Jericho" on the CW. I know I DVR'd it and started it at about 7:23 p.m., after the awesome Stillers beat the very cold Romo and his Cowboy pals! But seriously, I wonder how much, if any, 60 Minutes saw a change from 7 to 7:30 too.
