The finale of THE AMAZING RACE 13 posted increases in viewers and demos over THE AMAZING RACE 12 finale, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Dec. 7. The season finale of THE AMAZING RACE 13 was second in households (6.3/10), viewers (10.57m), adults 25-54 (4.0/09) and averaged a 3.1/07 in adults 18-49. THE AMAZING RACE 13 was up from the finale of AMAZING RACE 12 in households (from 5.9/09, +7%), viewers (from 9.79m, +8%) and adults 25-54 (from 3.9/08, +3%). Brother and sister team, Nick and Starr Spangler, one of the most dominant teams in the history of the Race, were first to cross the finish line in Portland, Ore., capturing the $1 million dollar prize. Separated husband and wife team, Ken and Tina Greene finished second followed by fraternity brothers Andrew Lappitt and Dan Honig. The 14th installment of THE AMAZING RACE premieres Sunday, Feb. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). |

This was one of the weaker seasons. I hope for more compelling personalities on season 14.
I totally agree. There wasn’t a single outlandish or exciting team in the entire bunch. Probably the worst season other than Family Edition.
Nick and Starr were too “perfect”. The show shouldn’t cast any bland, perfect, rosy-cheeked pairs like them. They should only cast only bizarre squabbling weirdos, because let’s face it, they make it interesting! I don’t see the benefit in casting people as perfect as Nick and Starr. Or alternatively, they should cast ONLY really athletic perfect teams. Anything to make it more interesting.
