NBC BROADCAST NUMBER ONE IN TOTAL VIEWERS, HOMES AND A25-54
NEW YORK – December 9, 2007 – According to Nielsen Media Research data, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was the most-watched network evening newscast, winning the week of December 1-7, 2008. During the week, the Williams-led newscast averaged a whopping 9.430 million total viewers, +671,000 more than ABC “World News’” 8.759 million, and +2.621 million more than CBS “Evening News’” 6.809 million. Season-to-date, “Nightly” leads “World News” by +317,000 viewers.
Among the key demographic adults 25-54, “Nightly News” won posting a 2.5 rating, ahead of ABC’s 2.2 rating. CBS followed with a 1.7 rating. Nightly led World News by a whopping +342,000 A25-54 viewers for the week. Season-to-date, Nightly leads World News by +108,000 A25-54 viewers.
In homes, “Nightly News” also placed first with a 6.3 rating and a 12 share. In second place ABC drew a 5.9/11, and CBS posted a 4.6/9.
On its digital platforms, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” continued its strong performance with more than 3.1 million online streams for the week ending December 6, 2008.
