I covered the Giants game last night and immediately, it seemed as if the story wrote itself: All-PA Super Bowl. Yet, I would also like to see the Cards and Ravens. I think it’ll be a better gsme than any other combo, but if the Eagles do make it, I pray that it’s a more entertaining game than their loss to New England.

I would love to see a fresh face like the Cardinals in the Super Bowl and that is all anyone is talking about seems everyone is pulling for them. I hope they knock off the Eagles and make it cause we are already making Cardinal Super Bowl party plans now if only the Ravens can make it a true Bird Super Bowl. lol

To get back on topic, I do think the “Game Show” bump was a blip. Or maybe a result of less “draw” for the Arizona-Carolina game, so viewers just left their TV’s on CBS after football? We shall see.

The mere possibility of a Cardinals-Ravens Super Bowl has to make NBC nuts. Granted, I personally believe that they would do a better job of presenting that game that FOX would (because it’s not ’sexy’), but we’ll see how it shapes up. After all, we have seven days to know what will happen.

philly vs arizona will do well for FOX next week. Of course NBC would want Philly in the super bowl but they should do ok.

the game show seems unique i think this will be a filler like dateline or deal or no deal. great to have during the summer months for CBS. I agree i dont think 20 million hung around for the show. that audience left for the other playoff game on FOX.

as i said, if san diego vs pittsburgh is close (goes into OT) and leads into the start of the Golden Globes, then CBS wins the night…hands down.

The finale of Crusoe garned less in both 18-49 and veiwers than Avatar the Last Airbenders Finale. Which was in the moring, pretty weak. It also did worse than L&O reruns.

Though I doubt CBS still had 20+ million hanging around at 7:59pm, whatever it was, still many millions more than it will have again.

Cool, while I don’t think the numbers for “Game Show” are anything to brag about, that it still averaged 5.6 million and a 1.9 between 8:30p-9p is much better than I would’ve predicted. Here are the half hour breakouts per Berman:

8:00 p.m. V: 7.09 million (#2), A18-49: 2.5/ 7 (#1)
8:30 p.m. V: 5.57 million (#2), A18-49: 1.9/ 5 (#2)

‘Game show’ had 2.5 in the first half and drop to 1.9. I think there’s nothing to brag about specially with a HUGE lead in.

Am still away from home, but the game show in my head bump was at the very least caused by CBS dropping a 20+ million viewer audience off at 8pm, something that will never happen again this year, and perhaps by some Eastern time zone overrun. Either way it was almost certainly a one time thing.

Joseph, headline fixed and good point. CBS promoted “Game Show” frequently during the game and I think (my memory may be off) the post game coverage on CBS led-in to the 8pm hour.

Jay, if Philly prevails in the second half and San Diego can best Pittsburgh in the snow, the ratings picture for both the conference championships and the Super Bowl are impacted at least a little. Of course should that happen it would mean every home team who had a bye week…lost. But as of this writing a Pittsburgh/New York Super Bowl is still possible. If that comes off the table and we wind up with a Baltimore vs. Arizona Super Bowl, I’ll leave it to Bill to write about the apocalypse.

You’ve got it listed as Sunday Ratings when it’s really Saturday ratings also the reason why Game Show in My Head had a better rating this week was because CBS had an NFL Playoff game the Ravens vs Titans atleast that would be my guess
