WILLIAMSBURG – “Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence spoke at the College of William and Mary last night and told a crowd at his alma mater that the medical comedy series is ending after finishing its eighth season.

Lawrence said he and lead actor Zach Braff decided to leave, and that the “Scrubs” cast knew that would mean the end of the series. “Scrubs” recently moved from NBC to ABC, but Lawrence indicated that the move was not a factor in the decision to end the series.

    Finally!

  2. Daniel says:

Nobody says you have to watch the Cool. I find it interesting that people bother to post something negative about a show they probably dont watch. For the rest of us who like the show, its sad that they are quitting.

  3. Julia says:

Daniel, this is a ratings site. In terms of ratings, it definitely is finally.

  4. cool says:

Chillout Daniel, 8 seasons is enough.

I thought that most people at ABC and everywhere else knew that Lawrence and Braff were leaving after this season, along with Judy Reyes who plays Carla and that even with them leaving it was still possible for a 9th season. It doesn’t seem like this story shows anything different, but oh well what happens happens.

  6. Jon K, I think most people knew it, expected it, etc., but this was (at least that I’d seen) the first publicly announced admission of it.

    Bye Scrubs!

  8. Jesse says:

Later Scrubs. I love love loved the first 4 seasons. I liked the rest. It’s been fun.

  9. rick says:

scrubs is great this season but abc chose the wrong timeslot for it. scrubs shoul have been held back til next month and taken the 8pm slot on weds as it would then face lie to me and old christine much easier competition than fringe (with an idol lead in}, the mentalist and biggest loser.

I just hope ABC gives the show they produced for years the sendoff it deserves.

  11. ANIL says:

This just goes to show u how STUPID ABC is. Idiot monkeys!!

  12. scott says:

ANIL – it wasn’t ABC’s decision to end the series it was the creators of the show!

  13. Roland says:

I’m with you Daniel. If you don’t like a show and you don’t watch it, why do you care if it sticks around. There are lots of people, me included, who still love it.

It was pretty much known that this would be Scrubs last season as we know it. An ending has been set up all ready. The last episode being called “My Finale”.

What was until recently up in the air was slightly different Scrubs based on the interns, that would basically be a spinoff. I would have checked it out but it would not have been the same.

Scrubs ruled all 7 previous seasons and have been ruling this 8th season as well. Whoo Scrubs! It shall be missed.
