Sorry Kyle XY fans, but amidst a slew of renewal and pickups by ABC Family The Hollywood Reporter slips in that Kyle XY is being cancelled:
In one fell swoop, ABC Family has set up its new lineup.
Following the success of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” the cable network on Friday night picked up three new female-oriented series, comedies “Ruby and the Rockits” and “10 Things I Hate About You” and drama “Perfect 10.”
All three received 10-episode orders.
Additionally, ABC Family renewed college dramedy “Greek” for a third season and black family drama “Lincoln Heights” for a fourth season with 10-episode pickups while canceling sci-fi mystery “Kyle XY” after three seasons.
It’s not clear from the article that the show is being yanked off the schedule, and we probably won’t be able to get any information on that until Monday, but hopefully for fans the episode scheduled for Monday night, and the subsequent episodes already produced, will air as normal.

Once again it’s the show that ISN’T all mindless pop pablum that gets the ax, to be replaced by yet more programming geared towards the double-digit I.Q. crowd. No more Kyle XY and no more Middleman leaves a big hole in my viewing habits. Unless the Cheese Channel (SciFi) steps in and picks them up, which is highly unlikely.
It’s a shame that television is becoming increasingly populated by retread comedies, “reality shows” that have nothing whatsoever to do with any reality I’ve ever heard about, and the latest Law & Order spinoff or CSI transplant to a new city. Add to this the “re-imagining” (defined as “complete ruination of something people liked and will watch again, if only to see just how badly we f#&% it up!”) crap they’re foisting off on us, now, and there seems little hope. Every brilliant glimmer of it gets quickly killed off.

ABC Family was an unknown entity in my house until Kyle XY came along. I will now throw ABC Family out of my house just like they threw Kyle XY out of theirs. There is nothing else on that network that I will watch. Myself and millions of fans worldwide will miss Kyle XY. It was that rare, magical show that brought us all together. Thank you Kyle XY cast and crew for three wonderful seasons. I only wish ABC Family had enough class to let you wrap up the show for us fans instead of leaving us hanging.
I agree with Terry, Kyle XY is the only show that I have ever watched on ABC Fam, and it is really good, way to kill the smartest show on the network.
I, personally, do not want to see a “closer”. I think the chances of a cliff hanger and us the fans left with more questions than answers at the end of the season is better than a 2 hour wrap up hasty special or something. It keeps the mystery alive and keeps us all wondering, it also leaves us with that glimmer of hope that it ISN’T ever going to be fully over, it will live on because Kyle has touched the souls of many. After all the initial question that has fueled the show since day 1 has been: Who is Kyle XY?
Just as ABC Family has canceled the only great show they had, I will be canceling my viewership of their station. Kyle XY was the only program that I watched regularly, and oftentimes I’d give their other programs a chance to support the network that brought us Kyle XY in the first place. This was a great show with a fantastic blend of sci fi, comedy, mystery and family drama. I will truly miss Kyle XY.

As I saw that ABC Family cancels Kyle XY I was deeply shocked and I felt very sad. At the first moment I doesn’t know what to do because I couldn’t believe that this will happen. But now I feel extremely mad and angered about ABC Family. How can they cancel this amazing show. The show based on talented writers and an awesome cast which is closely connected to his fan base. The cancellation does not surprise me. Last year, ABC Family had press releases celebrating the ratings of Lincoln Heights, which improved in the ratings this season; Greek, which has improved in the ratings every half-season; and The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which is the highest rated series to ever air on the network. ABC Family had nothing to say about Kyle XY.
The show has steadily declined since it was a hit for the network in season 1, and the network’s other shows have done better at attracting ABC Family’s target audience of 12-34 year olds. Given they have two new sitcoms starting this March and have now picked up 3 new shows, cancelling their lowest-rated series makes sense.
kyle xy was a great show but the yshould of aired it over the summer and advertised. hopefully abc family won’t make the same mistakes in the future or they will end up with nothing like all the other networks. Abc family take a cue from usa they know haw to advertise and pick the righ time slots. You screw yourself with this mistake. Stop trying to be the new CW because no one wants that as you can tell from their ratings.

I absolutely adore Kyle XY, I was so excited when the third season started. If anyone is to blame for the drop in ratings its ABC Family. They left it 10 months between series and hadn’t advertised it that much. I think that Matt Dallas, and Jaimie Alexander are fantastic in it. I will follow their prospective careers. I really hope they change their minds, Kyle XY is by far the best thing on television at the moment. Its an intelligent, funny, family friendly drama that I love. What is ironic is that while you there are watching the 3rd season, here in Brazil we are watching the season 2. And here it airs on Sci-fi.

It is an absolute travesty that Kyle XY is being canceled! It is a wonderful show, my favorite in fact, and I am both sad and angered that ABC Family has canceled the show that put them on the map. This is a fantastic family series with a wonderful blend of sci-fi, humor, teen drama, and mystery. I am absolutely mourning the loss of this great show. I’ve no longer have any reason to ever tune into ABC Dysfunctional Family!!

Kyle XY was one of those shows that the whole family could watch together. Good characters and entertaining storylines. I didn’t watch “Kyle XY” the first season and most of the second because the comercials made it clear to me that it was a sci-fi mystery and that has never been a genre that interested me but one night there was nothing else on but the “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” so I sat down to watch it and was good, following the show was “Kyle XY” and again nothing else was on so I watched and I immediately got hooked. Then trying to find ways to watch past episodes to get caught up. With “the secret life…” becoming so successful I really think they should give “Kyle XY” another chance because I’m sure there are going to be many other people out there like me and they will see their ratings go up when people decide to give the show a chance because of boredom or because it follows another good show and hopefully get hooked like obviously many others.
I love Kyle XY! I’m a 26 year old attorney who fell in love with Kyle XY during a marathon between seasons. Prior to seeing Kyle I couldn’t imagine wanting to watch any shows on ABCF, but Kyle XY was so good and had the perfect balance of mystery, sci-fi, romance, and drama. I’m very sad to see it go. None of the other shows on ABCF have appealed to me in the same way and I’m sure my viewership of the channel will come to an end once Kyle’s run is over. I only hope that another network will pick it up, advertise it properly and allow this show to continue making quality episodes.
does anyone know the m/f skew for the show? it seems like ABC Family is becoming a lot more female skewed which i thought wasnt a great move…but clearly kyle xy’s ratings have suffered over the past few seasons, altho once again its been about a year and a half since its last new episodes aired. i kind of agree with the person who suggested airing it during the summer, abc family over airs shows in half seasons, maybe if they kept kyle xy it could air during in off cycles against the other shows on abc family

This is complete and utter crap. I LOVE Kyle XY. Besides The Middleman (which is probably going to be axed as well if it already hasn’t been) those are the only two shows I watch. I hate Secret Life (way to promote young mothers and that it’s okay to have sex at 15 because mommy and daddy will swoop in to save the day…….) and the fact that now they’re “gearing more shows towards females….” WTH! Leave Kyle, a show that is getting ratings and working and ditch the rest of the crap.

Good Grief. I Love Kyle XY and can hardly believe my ears. This is a good wholesome family series with a very interesting twist. It’s also the only reason I ever watch ABC Family. Why not get rid of “The Secret Life of an American Teenager” If I want to see pregnant kids, all I have to do is look around at the Mall. I don’t need to waste my electricity for that tripe.
I guess that I’ll be tuning in to The Closer on TNT instead. This is another favorite of mine. I always catch it on later so I can watch KYLE XY.

I’m a old old lady – 49 – and I fell in love with Kyle XY right out of the box. It’s charming, intelligent and shows a great deal of family orientation. Not that I intend to give ABC Family another ounce of support after Kyle XY hits the skids but maybe they could let us, the fan base which made Kyle sucessful in the first place, in on their reasoning.
The writer’s strike helped no one but Hollywood writers. A lot of good shows lost momentum because of it. The writers came back not giving a damn about the quality of their work because they saw the effect having nothing but reruns to watch had on the viewing public.
ABC Family is a cable/dish network. They can’t expect the percentage of viewers mainstream networks receive. If that’s their reasoning, shame on them.
Be careful in petitioning: CBS viewers campaigned furiously for ‘Jericho’ and what they got in return was a show with all the quality and depth of a home movie. ‘Jericho’ lost, miserably, and viewers were denied what had been a very promising show. It would be a typical network response to punish viewers by kicking down a less-than-appealing version of the original program.
As for me, and for what it’s worth – Kyle XY goes away and so will I. Other than reruns of ‘Gilmore Girls’, ABC Family has nothing else of any import to recommend itself.
Good luck to all of us and to the cast and crew of Kyle XY. It will be interesting to see them stretch their collective wings elsewhere.
This is an outrage. The show Kyle XY was the ONLY thing reason I ever watched ABC Family and because it came on after those other lame shows like “Secret Life of The American Teenager” I would endure them in anticipation of KYLE XY. i dont understand why its getting canceled.. all threw out season 1 and season 2 critics raved about how great kyle was.. if the show was doing so bad why did they push so hard to extend season 2. i mostly blame abc family because they didn’t advertise it enough. there was an entire summer where kyle wasn’t talked about at all. it isnt our fault ratings fell if they did its the networks… stop rerunning old shows of the past and show newer shows. you cant get your viewers if you don’t show them good stuff to watch. if buffy the vampire slayer is still being played after its 2003 series finale i dont get why kyle isn’t being played at 430 or later… instead grounded for life, what i like about you, and gilmore girls still continue to play… OPEN YOUR EYES ABC FAMILY!!! I work retail and I have to work at 5am on tuesdays so I have to be up at 2 45am but I always stay up to watch Kyle at 9pm but not anymore. I shall go to bed at a reasonable time from now on.
I didn’t watch Kyle XY the first season. I knew it was a sci fi type show and i just didn’t think i’d like it. BUT I WAS DEAD WRONG! This sucks, they finally get a show that requires a little thought and people don’t want to watch it. Fricking drama queens of the 21st century are ruining t.v. and a sci-fi drama can’t even touch it. this blows.

Now guys I have been a long time fan of Kyle Xy from since its first premiere on ABC family. I can sincerly tell you, that this is perhaps one of the best Science Fiction shows I have ever seen in my entire life. Honestly, the show has got it all, suspense, action , romance ,tragedy and every other event that makes it a unique show. Ideally, I’ll go as far as saying that this show is more interesting than Smallville.I mean come on, we all know that Clark becomes Superman and he and Lois end up together , so what the hell is the point of keep watching it if we already know what Clark’s ultimate destiny is? Don’t be mistaken guys I’m a true Smallville fan but come on!! If you really check which show got the better storyline between Smallville and Kyle Xy its Kyle XY all the way.
Anyway, forget all that i said before, i don’t want to drive away people who are fans of Kyle XY and Smallvile away because right know we need to help one another; we need to become organized more than ever now. Guys as God is my witness there is a way to save Kyle Xy from a complete shut down as well as other series that the ” producers ” suddenly decide doesn’t have enough ratings. The Solution people is for us as fans to ” Finance Kyle Xy “. I mean think about. How much money does it cost to make a season of lets say 20 episodes….about 10 mil.(just guessing doesn’t have to be right) and how much fans we got about more than 2 million fans . Now lets say if 2 million people give 20 dollars a month to ABC family for 3 months …. how much do we get 120 million dollars!!! thats more than enough for 3 seasons( supposing their on a tight budget). I mean come on people , if we are really fans and i mean really, 20 bucks a month isn’t going to hurt us. Thats pocket change for christ sake!!! We can save this show. Yes we can. All we need is to give it the proper financing it needs and eventually Kyle Xy might get more popular again. Please guys i’m begging you, don’t lose hope. I am writing in protest against the terrible decision made to end Kyle XY at its third season.
Kyle XY is the best, most enjoyable drama serial on the ABC Family channel that I have ever watched and the only one that I really bothered to keep up with faithfully each week. The cast is an unforgettable one, made up of the most endearing and likeable characters that one can easily fall in love with, characters which one does not come across in many television programmes today. The actors and actresses, namely Dallas, Prout, Alexander, Matson, Bilodeau, Olivero, Thomas, and Maclntyre, have performed their roles brilliantly.
It has always been such a pleasure to watch the comic back-and-forth of the Trager kids, Josh Trager’s many hilarious moments and absurd theories about Kyle‘s origin, and also to see certain people together–particularly Kyle and Amanda, Lori and Declan, and Josh and Andy.
Kyle XY is an amazing, if not unprecedented, blend of many genres; it’s romantic comedy and teenage drama and skin-prickling suspense and heart-stopping action and highly intriguing science fiction all in a single package. Watching this show is like reading a bestselling, multi-genre novel, except that it’s much better because it’s television. There are also occasional insightful observations from Kyle on human behaviour and several emotionally moving, heart-warming family moments, which are what I really enjoy most the show and which really makes it the perfect family programme.
The science-fiction element and plot are in themselves highly satisfying. The idea of a human embryo being nurtured in an artificial womb is brilliant and very originally conceived and viewers can never cease to be amazed at what Kyle and Jessi can do with their minds and bodies. At certain points in the storyline, there are unexpected twists and turns, a few of which are when Kyle decodes a secret message telling him not to trust Foss but realises later on that the message has been tampered with, and when it is revealed in the latest season that Mark is actually with Latnok.
In short, Kyle XY is top-notch, first-rate, riveting entertainment for the family.
I beseech you to reconsider your previous decision to not let Kyle XY continue for a fourth season because, in all honesty, it is a really bad decision. While Kyle XY is a production of the American Broadcasting Company, its audience is certainly not limited to only American viewers. Since its premiere in countries all over the world, the show has won itself legions of fanatics who will be equally disappointed, if not enraged, as the American viewers by this one terrible decision.
Furthermore there is still so much in the show that has not been properly answered or explained, so many loose ends that remain untied. Cutting the show off so prematurely at its third season with a cliffhanger is too inadequate a conclusion.
At this point, I should perhaps direct your attention to Kyle XY fan pages on Facebook and the numerous online petition sites which have so far amassed innumerable furious, disappointed protests calling for united efforts to “SAVE THE TUB”.
If you were to browse through a few of these petitions, you would also realise how such a move would alienate Kyle XY fanatics who, needless to say, contribute to the number of viewers of your network. There are more than merely a few petitions in which the petitioner stated that, if Kyle XY were cancelled, he would not tune in to the ABC Family channel again because Kyle XY is all they watch on that channel.
If still I have failed to convince you of the necessity to let this show resume for its fourth season, and hopefully many more to come, you could at least see to it that some other television network takes charge of Kyle XY to give it a proper ending that does not leave viewers unsatisfied.

We got be organized people. In order to save this show we need to spread the word and tell others what ABC family is doing. But, unfortunately as far as I see signing petitions with a few thousand signatures isn’t going to work well or at all. Listen guys, ABC family is like any other network, they don’t care about people feelings and beliefs , as far as I’m concern they only care about two things RATINGS AND MONEY. Once one is gone the show is good as dead. One thing I learn from dealing with people is that if you can’t offer them something like money, power or even love you’re useless to them. My guess to save KYLE XY is to offer one of the two “Money or Ratings “. If we fans could come up with some unique way to get them either (money or ratings) we can save the show. By the way, I do support petitions, I have agreed to 3 already and I hope that all fans do. But, guys let’s talk about reality, say if I own a TV station and I’m losing money because a show suddenly loses ratings and I decide because of this to end the show, do you think that I would fathom to care about what a few fans say about my decision. If we start to think like ABC family and start to understand what they want then we will be to come up with a full proof method to save the show. Through our fan unity we, together, can come up with a solution. Cancelling the show because of a drop in the ratings is understandable, but in this case it isn’t. It’s like ABC Family wanted the show to disappear. How can you expect huge ratings when you have a seven month hiatus between seasons, and next to no promotion. Kyle XY is such a creative show. I love watching it with the family. It’s a show that actually has a good creative plot, and is not just complete nonsense like most shows out there. Please save Kyle..i was so excited when it finally started back..if you aren’t going to save it..at least end it well. Give us one more season to wrap things up. Save the tub!!!!!!

I would have to say the network has made a mistake. Kyle XY was a great show enjoyed by all age groups. There is no show like it on at this time. I would hope they will change there mind and renew the contract to make another season. It is the only show I watch on FOX and maybe the last.

The notion that ABC Family made a mistake here is…wrong. They made a decision fans of Kyle XY don’t LIKE! And I understand that and feel bad for fans of the show. But that’s a long way from “made a mistake”. Last week KyleXY was ABC Family’s eleventh most watched show, behind #1 Secret Life and several reruns of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Secret Life is its strongest show and it’s reasonable to want to leverage that with a show that could get higher ratings following it. I understand many of you don’t LIKE that Secret Life is so popular, but whether you, your friends, or Barack Obama likes it or understands it, it doesn’t matter, that’s just how it is.
So, it’s unfortunate your show got cancelled, but it’s foolish to act like ABC Family is making some huge mistake.

It’s been nearly 10 years since I’ve been a regular T.V. watcher because I could never find anything worth watching more than once or twice until I stumbled across Kyle XY just this year… I LOVE it! I’ve since purchansed the DVDs for both season 1 and 2 and have enjoyed them immensely. It figures that just when I get into it, they’d cancel it. I’m shocked that this will be their final season… ABC Famiy is losing their most entertaining and fascinating show they have.
I agree with the previous poster. I just picked up the show this year and have found myself completely in love with it! I have done nothing but watch seasons 1 and 2 the past few weeks to catch up on what’s going on. They really are making a huge mistake by canceling this. The show is absolutely amazing and I hope the fans can pull together and possibly keep the show from going off air.

Once again the networks are making quick stupid mistakes. They keep the dumb shows that make no sense and are very unethical. Too many great Sci-fi programs are being cancelled and replaced by teenie weenie girly shows…… I guess the mainstream (pediphiles) don’t want a show that requires you to think about science, the possibilities and the future we face. It’s not just a show…. it’s entertainment that STIMULATES your mind, requires imaginative thought!

i’m not going to type out the huge tirade that is going on in my head, but abc f, you are making a huge mistake by canceling kyle xy. it was your best show and you just flushed it down the toilet. way to go.
I know that I am writing this in vain! I know that you will not care one way or the other, but sometimes a person just has to say what is on their mind! You see, I am totally disabled, and all of the contact that I have with anything is a TV, a phone, and a computer. I watch TV to be entertained. I watch it so that for a few hours a day, I can forget the problems of my life and the world around me, and think that somewhere, someone, is having a better day than I am. Yes, I do still believe in “happy endings” even though it sounds corny! I do not like reality programs, and I have long since given up on soaps and game shows. I don’t care who is dancing with whom, or how desperate some housewives may be! I enjoyed Kyle XY because it made my brain actually have to think, and it also was something that a family could enjoy together. The Tragers had good values (until recently); they loved their kids, and tried to make the world a better place by them being in it. I have not been happy with Lori becoming a “bed jumper” again, or the way that she treated Declan. I don’t like how Kyle and Amanda had to break up because Jessie was always in the picture! I don’t like how Josh and Andy had to have sex! Why couldn’t we have kept the show on the road to showing morals again? I think that is one of the reasons that it dropped in ratings. The ABC Family Network had left behind all of the things that made Kyle XY good and different! Also, they waited so long to bring it back. And, it had become all about Jessie! I wish that girl would go on down the road, because all her character ever showed was how to be self centered and selfish just like her mom Sarah was! The actors on this program also deserved better than this! This is the only show that I watched on ABC Family, and the only one that I watched that was even connected to ABC. When they would show commercials about their other shows when I was watching Kyle, I never saw anything else worth watching, and I am NOT going to be watching this network again! You call yourself the New ABC Family. Well, the plots of your other programs are so without morals, that I wouldn’t let a teenager of mine watch any of the current ones, and none of your new ones that are coming in the new season! ABC has never cared about what the viewing public wants to see. If any of you are old enough, they proved this a long time ago when they cancelled a wonderful show called “Lois and Clark, The New Adventures Of Superman”. They didn’t care about us then, and they don’t care about us now! The day that they cancelled Kyle, is the day that they cancelled my support for their network. So, I ask you, DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE???? Do you care what we watch on your network????? I ask you to just do a little “surfing” on the net and see how fans are unhappy with their favorite shows! Contrary to your beliefs, the public is not all STUPID IDIOTS! We do have a brain, we do think for ourselves, and we are beginning to turn off the TV, and go back to some great family past-times – talking and reading books! So, you better think about it, because as a person who once would not have missed a minute of her favorite programs, (I had more than ONE TV in more than ONE room of my house), I am now seriously thinking of selling all of them never to watch TV again! We saw the cheap shot that you made in the commercial about Valentine’s Day and different couples. You used Kyle and Amanda just to give us a little hope for Kyle XY. But, you didn’t fool us! So, I guess I’ll be happy watching I Love Lucy re-runs, and The Beverly Hillbillies, etc., etc. At least they will give me a good laugh every so often!

I really don’t think Abc knows what they are doing. I mean why the hell, excuse my language would they cancel a great show that I know has been pull it weight and bringing in the ratings. I mean just to get other shows on. I mean why Cancel something that is going good to put something else on that might not be so great. Why would they cancel one of my favorite shows. There is no other younger show that has the wholesome connections like this show has. I will probably never watch ABC Family after this, for 2 reasons, one is that they made me wait longer and the rest of the shows fans wait longer to re air the show and two to just cancel it when it is starting to heat up. Everything else like Greek and the pregnant teen show are hopeless wanna be shows and to just cancel the most unique show that ABC Family will ever host I am not happy about this at all.

I think I have a solution to save the show. Ratings and money. Ratings are
important in any tv show, else how would a tv station make money. What we
need is an all out solemn pledge from all viewers who watch ABC family to
cease or at least abstain little from watching ABC family. If we can get at
least 2 million people or more who watch ABC family to suddenly cease from
watching ABC family we can ultimately send a strong message to ABC family
that we want Kyle xy back on air. This is somelike what Gandhi did to
bridge differences between Indians and Muslims in the 1940’s, he fasted (
except we are talking TV here) . Anyway, we can have what i like to call a
TV FAST . This i believe is the best solution to save the show. Remember
Viewers = Money , NO Viewers = NO MONEY. The less viewers ABC family has
the more stronger our message becomes.

I will most definitely not be flipping onto the ABC channel any more. I bought the first two entire seasons on Xbox LIVE and never knew that ABC existed until I wiki’d the show after I finished the second season to see when number three was coming out.

With Kyle gone we want be watching ABC Family again. If a show isn’t Survivor or CSI it doesn’t have a chance. To bad we can’t have a show like Kyle to enjoy just for the enjoyment of it. It’s sad to see Kyle XY canceled. The only two shows I watch on ABC family is Kyle Xy. I have watched it every week since it first aired. I’m hoping Disney/ABC will change their minds about this and continue to air Kyle XY, at least for a few more seasons to finish the plot. Kyle XY is a great show, and I don’t see all the Kyle fans moving to watch The Secret Life of the American Teenager. After Kyle is over I can’t see myself watching ABC Family at all.
Please reconsider in your decision to cancel Kyle XY. I love the show and have been a follower since the beginning. I believe Kyle XY is the perfect show filled with romance, suspense, drama, adventure, and science fiction. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect show.
ABC does it again! I’ve had about all I can take with investing my time watching ABC programming to have the PtB pull the programming right from under me (and my family). As my programming ends, so does my viewing. I, and my family, have vowed not to begin watching new programming on ABC again. In fact, we’re going to start taking classes, etc. instead.
I really think that ABC Family should seriously rethink it’s decision to cancel Kyle XY. There are a handful of shows that I actually know the channel, day and time they come on & Kyle XY is one of those. I only watched Secret Life (stupid pregnant 15 year old wit parents that will take care of them…ugh!!) because I couldn’t go to sleep & it came on after KYLE!!! (& that was only a couple times) Now I’ve got my roommates watching KYLE! The titles of the shows of the new Mon. nite line up don’t even vaguely interest me! I really can’t believe this!! Just when the show was getting really juicy… it has everything I’m looking for; mystery, suspenseintrigue, smart ppl. There is really no reason for me to continue watching ABC Family now that KYLE is gone. All the good shows always get cancelled like Blood Ties!!! i’m very sad….
I think that Kyle XY is just one of those good shows that anyone of any age can watch and yet it is still a family show. I look foward to it every Monday. I don’t watch anything else on ABC Family and I think this show is a brilliant idea. There is still so much to tell and I feel like we are only getting into the middle of the series. Kyle XY is a great show. I got hooked when I was looking for something to watch while I worked out. Show had good story and all the actors played their part perfect. It was something completely different and nothing else on TV even comes close. I only had 2 shows I watched which were The Shield and Kyle XY.
Kyle XY has a huge following. I don’t understand why they are pulling. If they cancel it then what is to say they won’t pull any other shows that we all start to like again??

Keep kyle xy for at least another season(or two). The show has such prospect. It is only half cooked so far. It has become a victim of the time. The writers strike and all. If ABC ever thought long and hard about it they wouldve realised that start of season 2 sucked which wouldve lost veiwers. After seeing it through the rest of season 2 was good and all of season 3 is great. Im really going to miss this show. It is one i truely enjoyed
How is “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” the most watched show on the “FAMILY” channel. I would not let my children watch this show. I feel the show is trying to tell teens “what not to do” however this point is completely left out.
It also has some of the worst writing I have ever seen. I watched one episode as I was waiting for Kyle XY to start. One of the characters was pulled over, the police officers name was “PETER PANnigan”. Come on!!!! Are we going to bring her downtown and let her meet police Captain Hook!!!!!
I’m 64 years old, and I loved Kyle XY. It was different, interesting, and Matt Dallas had his character nailed! All the young acters worked very well together, and played their parts off each other in a believable way! I truly don’t understand the powers that be these days!!! They have a show that works, lots of folks seem to like it alot, and they cancel it!! Go figure!!! Personally, I hate that Kyle XY is being cancelled! That being said, I watch ABC very little except for Kyle XY……NOW I’LL WATCH IT EVEN LESS, not that ABC cares! If ABC is interested in keeping people watching their shows, they should find out what “WE” want to see and not make up our minds for us! Thanks for nothing, ABC! My entire family, extended family and myself have watched Kyle XY from day one never missing an episode. It was unique, well written and a great cast. An ideal show for young and older alike. Kyle XY is the best original show ever to be on ABC Family. It’s a horrid shame for it to be cancelled. As an extreme KXY fan, I’m excessively disappointed in ABC Family. I used to think it was a good network (because of KXY), but they seem to be replacing excellent shows like Wild Fire and Kyle XY with poorly written and acted shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Roommates. I hope ABC Family realizes that they are going to lose viewers and fan support by cancelling Kyle XY. I sincerely hope they bring this incredible show back. I am writing this today with a heavy heart. I am giving up! I am so tired of trying to get programs saved. The networks do not care about us, the viewers. I do not believe that Kyle has gone down in the ratings as much as they say and that is the reason they are canceling the program. I believe that the “higher ups” give the order, and then the writers start to write terrible storylines, so that when the time comes, NO ONE is sad to see the program gone. They blame us, the viewers, when it is them that want to see it canceled.
Now, you may ask, why am I giving up? After last week’s episode, I no longer enjoy Kyle. It has now become the Kyle and Jessie show, and that is not what Kyle XY is all about. Kyle centered on a loving family called The Traggers. It was all about how Kyle learned about this wonderful world that he came into. But, now all it is about is whiney, self-centered Jessie. I feel like I am back in a high-school soap opera, and if I want to see that, then there are plenty of other shows to watch. It’s like we are watching 90210 – Stupid! I was so sick of “you broke my necklace, no you did”, or “I like Kyle more than you do” – Yadda, Yadda, Yadda! Who cares!!! It was O.K. when Jessie came in as the “bad” person. But, now we can’t get rid of her. She is so selfish and sneaky! Just like in high school! The main reason that we watched Kyle was because it let us use our brains! So, if that is the way it is going to go – then cancel it! After Amanda came and practically begged Kyle to take her back and he refused, then it became just like every other couple – NOTHING SPECIAL! But, that is what Kyle was – SPECIAL! And, these new smart kids that they have brought in. Why didn’t we just have things the way they were instead of going all different directions in the storylines? If we hadn’t had so many more people to pay, then we might could have hung on and got another season out of Kyle.
I don’t understand why we don’t mean anything to the networks. In this economy, people are not going to be able to keep going out to the movies. And, if they make it to the movies, they can’t afford anything from the concession stand, so why go? Why not wait for it to come on HBO or Showtime? TV will soon be (if not already) the main source of entertainment in the family. People will have to stay home more often than being able to go out. And, that is why we should matter.
Also, what about the sponsors? If we don’t buy their products, then they will start wondering why no one is seeing their commercials on TV. If the sponsors buy time on these programs and then do not see anything good from it, then it won’t be long before they realize that people aren’t watching the shows that they back.
One thing I do know, I am through with TV. I will not watch any new programs in the fall, and if all I had was ABC or ABC Family, I would throw my TV in the nearest lake. If I decide to watch anything, it will be old re-runs of programs from the 50’s or later. If I don’t watch them, I plan to start reading a lot more than I have been, and talking to my family lot’s more, and even start having game nights! I think it will be better in the long run! At least one thing is for sure – terrible TV means more family time!
Kyle xy has not fallen in popularity, people have just been too dependant on utube and instead of watching kyle on tv, they find time to watch it online. People are busy and have occupations and responsibilities that conflict with the 9′oclock showing. Sorry for the people who have done this, i am not one for technology so i watch tv, plus..watching kyle xy on tv is so much better. Without you continuing the series, we will never know the ending. Please don’t do this to us!
Ive watched Kyle XY since Episode 1 AND love iT! The is such a disappointment- Now the same of the “typical sitcom stuff”.. on ABC Family- Kyle was different and always keep our interest… oh well…so much for Monday nights!

Please, please, do not cancel Kyle XY! At least give it another season (even if it’s just another ten episode season) to wrap it up and do the story justice. It’s always been a well-acted, quality program (even when the writers and the powers that be seemed to be giving up on it) – very much UN-like the other shows currently on ABC Family. From the previews, it seems like there’s more of the same schlock coming down the pike too. If it means anything, we only watched ABC Family because of Kyle XY. Please either reconsider the cancellation or at least assist in the process to place it elsewhere. This is a popular show and a great story that deserves better!

Well, Kyle XY was the only show I watched on ABC, I couldn’t care less about any other show on ABC family. I have watched this show loyaly for 3 years and it hurst so much when they take away the story when you get so attached to the characters and actually feel emotion through the show. This was my faviorite show to watch on any network. I would gladly give up any other show just to keep Kyle XY going.
A tear rolled down my check when I heard this show was going to be cancelled.
Maybe, if every Kyle XY fan would get together and band against the cancelling of the show, just like the “JERICO FANS” we might be able to save Kyle. We could put it back on air. All the other shows on this station have been done before. (same old stories) Teenager gets pregnant (been done before), Greek (same old Keger), Lincoln Heights (talk about, 90210). But, Kyle XY was the only unique and interesting show.

With further thought, it may be that the writers actually lack the skills to wrap the story up (or never planned to in the first place).
Canceling shows without a proper ending sets a bad president, with the network then believing that it is acceptable to write a mysterious storyline which keeps everyone hooked for quite awhile, then to cancel it when it comes time to actually make sense of everything.
I would rather avoid networks that lack ethics and pull these sort of stunts.

Finally a show that my children and I can watch together and now you’re going to cancel it? We love Kyle XY for it’s subject matter and wonderful cast of kids. It brings up topics that are relevant and my kids are glued to the set for the whole hour then after the shows over we can sit and discuss what we just watched. I hate that it’s not going to be around for season 4. ABC Family….you just lost four loyal viewers!

It is beyond me how the people in power can do the things they do. Kyle XY is one of if not the finest written and performed show on TV. The chemistry of the characters is second to none. I watch the show each week and while watching I am just overwelmed with emotions.I will take an oath if need be to get my friends and anyone I know to watch. I’ll sign any petition put in front of me. ABC needs to get their head on straight. ABC Family finds that their number 1 show about teen pregnancy, teen sex, constant teen sex talk and mix or trying to mix Christian Values is what people want. I don’t see anything redeeming or Christian about teens talking incesently about having sex. I do find that Kyle is a first for many teens. Its science, its exploration, its a mystery and it is something teens can dig their teeth into. But again ABC family has everyone writing and posting e-mails and sending letters to their corporate center like they previously did. What a ploy on your part. Kyle needs to stay. Maybe if you didn’t bump it to 9 AM. You think Kyle was dark and violent, well I would much rather have my teens watching Kyle than learning about sex, sex, sex from the Secret Life. What a joke.
Oh yeah PS……our family as choosen not to Watch ABC Family anymore, nor do we watch ABC and your affiliate Disney and we watched it non-stop, everyday. We will only turn it on one more time and that will be next week with your last episode.

This is why I’ve nearly stopped watching TV altogether. Because TV networks cancel or end their best shows. I’m a huge fan of Kyle XY and have never missed an episode. Who cares about “10 things I hate about you” and “Perfect 10″, among the other shows. Those shows are for mindless drones who simply want entertainment and don’t want to have a story they can actually keep up with mentally and try to solve on their own from week to week and wonder if their thoughts on the situations are right. That’s one of many reasons I love Kyle XY. If Kyle XY is canceled, ABC Family will lose me as a viewer for good because that show is the only reason I still watch that channel.

I love Kyle XY I’m 15 and it’s my favorite show on television. Most of the time I watch garbage reality TV but this is the one intelligent show I can watch with my family and enjoy. ok. im a 16 year old kid who first started watching kyle xy when it first debuted. when i saw the first episode it sparked my imagination. i had never looked at abc family because all they showed was a bunch of dramas that nobody wanted to keep up with anymore. but kyle xy was different. i started watching the secret life JUST because kyle xy was on abcf and i was hoping it would be as good. and it was good. but in different ways than kyle was. kyle was fresh and original. the secret life is based on an idea that has been made examples of it countless movies, comics, television shows. this news about kyle xy is really disturbing.
I have to say that I loved the show. It was so unique and very true to life in terms of the emotion between Lori and Declan and Josh and Andy and of course Kyle and Amanda. Thats not to say that the family was your stereotypical American family, on the contrary it was more real because it showed the American family unit as an unbreakable force no matter who makes up an American family. I and all my friends will miss Kyle.

Yes, my family and I were only watching this channel because of Kyle XY. So I will not block this channel out and not come back. I am a teenage girl, and the show I find most interesting on that channel is Kyle XY. MY whole family loves it, including 4 girls under 16 and my mom. That proves that not only guys would like a scifi show. It had teen drama, and a great cast. Not to mention a good script, especially for being on ABC Family. Secret Life only beats it because they have a pregnant girl on it, by the way I find that show to be lacking in the acting and writing departments. I really hope ABCF decides to bring Kyle XY back for one or more seasons because I absolutely LOVE that show.

I believe that if they really wanted to scavenge the “what’s left” of the show, they wouyld have put in some serious advertising, try to prolong the storyline and also change the air date since Heroes is on almost the same time (not too sure) but I personnaly would have had some serious decisions to make as to what to watch (Heroes vs Kyle XY) on Mondays (If i weren’t such a Heroes junkie

well, it seems as though because there was really no sex, no swearing and it was all about clean cut it wasn’t going to last. I will really miss this. Charmed, that ran for 8 years had a better Series finale than this. You can use this cliffhanger for another 2 seasons. If you need help writing the script, I will be more than happy to do it, as will others. Just because rating go down a bit, it isn’t the end of world. Bring Kyle XY back either this fall or next summer. I nor anyone else will not be held responsible for any repercussions towards ABC Family. Remember the viewers are the ones who control the ratings. I cannot believe that ABC cancelled this show, these times are hard these days and for many people, Kyle XY was something many looked forward to, thanks ABC for ruining it for so many of us. Without an explanation, warning, or anything, not even the decency to give us a decent ending, you guys sincerely suck, and I doubt whether I will ever watch ABC again, I cannot promote unfairness, selfishness and a company who is not loyal to its fans.
This sucks!!! One of the best shows on tv and they cancelle it. This is not the first station to do this. The worst part is they just leave us hanging!!! Isn’t there anything we can do to stop it?
I, as a teenage girl, cannot believe that the best show on television, Kyle XY, was cancelled and even more upsetting, that the last episode of the series left us with even more questions than we’d originally had! Cancelling this show may be this biggest mistake ABC Family has ever made and i hope they are happy with themselves.
Well, I discovered ABC Family through Kyle XY. My husband and I are so sad to loose yet another favorite show. Goodbye Journeyman, goodbye Pie Hole, goodbye Jericho ….. at least ABC did not kill everyone off in Kyle XY. Now I’ll just wonder what would have happened next season. Dare I hope that SciFi could come to the rescue? Or any other channel for that matter. I swore not to watch a new regular ABC program; guess I’ll add ABC Family to that list as well. By the way, ABC, I only watched the teenager program because it came on before Kyle. Also, I like Molly Ringwald and Clark Kent’s dad (tee, hee). However, that has got to be the DUMBEST and/or goofiest program I’ve ever watched and I plan to discontinue my DVR recordings right after that damn baby is born. I have no interest about the NOT SO SECRET LIVES of those goofy teenagers or their even goofier parents.

Wow ABC family is really dumb. The ads for the “friends” rip off are vapid and cringe worthy. I hope another channel picks up Kyle XY. Maybe one of the “women’s channels” which have no content that women actually watch will get it. But then hey why would they an actual great show would be out of context on any of the “women’s channels”.
We weren’t entirely surprised to see it canceled. The showed strayed from the original concept too much in what appeared to be an effort to attract the non-scifi audience… making it more about who is in love this week. This season it finally seemed to be getting back to the story line but was apparently too late. Like so many others have said in their comments this was really the only show we watched on ABC Family so won’t be setting the DVR for the remaining crap. Take that ABCF.
Boy Every time I get into a good show they cancel it and put something dumb in its place. And it’s always the sc-fi shows. The people in the TV network can never let viewers enjoy a sc-fi show with out finishing the show. They just stop it in a cliffhanger and I’m getting so tired of it. It would be nice if some other network would pick it up like the dumb show “Scrub’ {which I think is a waist of time} I can only remember one show that they did finish when it was being canceled and that was MASH in the 70’s. Why do they have to make us all mad by giving us cliffhangers like “I’m your brother” just like in a movie “Luke I’m your father”. S—

It’s not like the writers didn’t know where they were going. That last episode was like watching Star Wars and having it cut off right where Darth announces his parental rights.

What happened to the good old days when series just kept going, for years, and years, and years? We need a channel Wasteland, devoted to all prematurely cancelled shows.
TV stinks. God forbid there should be a television show that actually has a plot and characters. Or even worse, maybe it discusses things that you’d have to make it beyond the 4th grade to understand. I’m so sick of all the nonsensicle pop culture fluff that we see on TV these days. Every week we see a new reality show (usually a spin off of an old reality show). If not that, it’s another cookie cutter 30 minute sitcom.
Every time someone tries to release an interesting show, it doesn’t last. I suppose it fails to reach that foolhardy teenager demographic. This new thing that ABC Family is pushing is the perfect example. A show about a 15 year old who gets pregnant and all the social and political ramifications at her high school. They should call it the Spears Family Channel.
I didn’t love Kyle XY but I liked it and I always felt that if the show stayed closer to its sci-fi roots, it could be great. Alas, a great show has no place in the modern world.

It is garbage that kyle xy is cancled. It was a show that we could sit down and watch, it was a family show, a show that made you think, a show that streaches outside the box and there were always questions that kept the show going. I cant belive there changing this show for stupid shows for people with double didget IQ’s like Greek, greek is a stupid show, nothing like the real world or what it could be, it makes everything a popurlarity contest. I’m 73 years old, my son is 53 years old (I also have grandchildren, 15 years old) and we had a lot of enjoyment out of phoning each other during Kyle XY. We were disappointed it is being dropped and are very upset with the type of ending show ABC Family chose to run.
First we had to investigate just to find out when the hell Kyle XY was coming on this season since it was never advertised and then we are left with that ending?!!!

Get used to it Folks, Shows with decent plots and messages will always lose to mindless fluff because thats what sells. Im a 46 year old dad that found value in Kyle XY, Im a SciFi freak and a sucker for ANYTHING in the genre. KXY was truly a family show that dealt with real life issues and in many ways, delivered positive messages. Hey, I like Sex and hot girls as much as anyone but without substance, all of that loses its appeal.
The series finale blew, one can only hope that it was done intentionally to leave things open for a movie or something to wrap it up. IMO, the fans deserve that…
ABC Family is paying attention to one thing and one thing only; The bottonline and that bottomline is that sex sells. I weep for America but to many of the kids posting here, I salute you, you seem to have good heads on your shoulders and I hope that its people like you that represent our future, not the goobers that watch reality shows and other park your brain at the door fluff with a glazed look in their eyes..
Did anyone see the last air episode….It was completely gay. They left us on a huge cliff-hanger. It worse than The Sopranos season finale. Who in their right minds would just drop a bomb like that (I’m not gonna give away the ending) and then end the show…GAY! What is the point in starting to watch new series when they don’t even air a decent conclusion. The last episode was terrible. . .there was not conclusion as to what happened. If they are going to cancel shows at least offer the viewers/fans a decent conclusion. I don’t plan on watching any more of there shows that play off of the last episode from this station. From now on the only shows I will watch from this channel will be episodes that you do not need to follow. I have followed this show from season 1 and the series finale had not finale. Here’s a suggestion if your going to end shows then do it right so people will continue to follow your new series.

I live in Arequipa-Perú, southamerica. We love Kyle, we didn’t know about ABC until kyle. Is a wonderful serie for the whole family. And it teaches us many things about living in family in a good way.

I just started watching Kyle XY when the 3rd season aired and now i cant stop!! We are extremely upset about the outcome of the Kyle XY series finale, if it could even truly be called a “finale”. The cliffhangers and unfinished storyline SUCKS SO HARD. We feel hurt and betrayed by ABC. We are beside ourselves with unsatisfaction, confusion, and disappointment. Okay, from a teenage girl perspective, The Secret Life of the American Teenager is very redundant and has overstayed its welcome. On Kyle XY, there is always something new to be discovered. To cancel this show was an awful idea because the next three that they have brought in are just going to flop like that Three Moons over Milford junk if anyone remembers the half-season it lasted. I own every episode of Kyle XY and I know pretty much anything there is to know about it in regard to what has been shown. The only reason the Secret Life will not be canceled quickly is because of its horrible cliche’ writing. My friend and I have concluded it is less than cliche’ and completely stereotypical. That’s the lesson ABC Family teaches to 13 year old girls: In high school, it’s the quiet one who gets pregnant, girls of minority are easy to get, the captain of the football team cannot be trusted, and once you’re pregnant, your closest friends betray you. It’s a stupid show, and the fact that it is going to replace Kyle XY is awful. It is there number one show based on viewers. Kyle XY was the number one show for years, and just because it isn’t, they decide to do away with it. This was a stupid move on ABC Family’s part and if any network television is smart enough to pick it up, they will.
Can’t we attack abc with letters begging them to save the show? We could send bags of the gummy worm candy that Kyle ate in season 1 with the letters and hope that abc my bring Kyle back for another season. Let me know your thoughts on this plan and whether or not it’s too late to save the show.

Kyle XY was certainly canceled before it’s time. Fans have (1)a plethora of unanswered questions, (2)a massive desire to see this program continued and (3)the drive to do what it takes to see that goal accomplished. What does this mean to networks? It means that (1) there is an established show with a great fan base that is waiting on someone to answer these questions (not to mention a plot that is screaming for a script), (2)with massive desire comes devoted fans, and (3) now those fans are grouping together to resurrect Kyle (much like he resurrected Jessi).
While we’re still reeling from the recent “hiatus” of Kyle XY, we’re not giving up hope! Fans can & have (and will) brought canceled shows back to life. Please join us at kylexy.net and see what you can do!

Cancelling Kyle XY is a massive mistake. Kyle is the only reason I had for watching the ABC Family channel. Guess I won’t have to choose whether to tape Kyle or Heroes – because there’s no competition for Heroes anymore.

Kyle XY is a prime example of the old adage, “only the good die young.” After three short seasons, we as fans are left begging for more… more of a show that was our bright spot on Monday nights.

With the cancellation of KYLE XY by ABCF, fans have lost a battle but certainly not the war yet. People all over the world are involved in trying to move the Tub to another network.

To the author of this article I am a fan of Kyle XY and it would be truly appreciated if you could write a column about our continued campaign efforts. Fans of Kyle XY are deeply disappointed by the ending of the show and after following the show loyally for three seasons we are hoping for a proper conclusion. you cant cancel Kyle XY
I am a mother of 3, a grandmother of 8 and love Kyle XY. You will loose my family from any future viewing of your ABC Family. It was not ready to be over! You’re so wrong!
Kyle XY is redefined the tv series since it came. Kyle XY tackled different issues at home which other series have never clearly depicted as Kyle XY did. It tackled the issues about teenagers dilemma better than any series shown.
ABC Family should reconsider cancelling the show.
Please let Kyle XY return for a 4th season. It is the best show there is. It provides life lessons to those looking for role models. It has something for everyone including comedy and action. Please save Kyle XY!

abc family you need to keep kyle xy on. not only does it appeal to men but it also appeals to females. WHY! why would they stop a great show like this for me it’s even better than heroes the story is great and makes more sense than heroes and in a high school way and entertaining are they really that stupid GOD! it was the best show ever for me now i think I’ll through any thing that spells ABC from now on, they SUCK!

Viewers determain what gets produced by simply watching. For whatever reason, Kyle XY must have been getting few views that their other shows. Let’s show them we’ll still watch! And, there’s millions of us world wide!
Its just not fair they got to the bestbit, then they cancelled it, i want to stick a knife in the Abc company for cancelling the show, it had the best storyline in almost everyshow. Now im only a dedicated fan to two tv shows (Kyle Xy and Supernatural), now im not saying supernatural’s bad or anything, but i rather they get rid of the tv show instead of kyle xy because kyle xy has a way better storyline.

Kyle XY was canceled before it’s time. I’ve watched this amazing show since the first season and have been hooked ever since. It is terribly sad that this show got canceled and I will keep fighting for Kyle until we get a real ending.
What gets to me is that they are canceling Kyle to pick up shows that appeal to a female audience. I am a female and none of those shows appeal to me at all. Kyle XY was a show that appealed to everyone (young/old, male/female). Everyone could fall in love with Kyle XY.
Hopefully, we will save the tub. I know that me and the other people over at KyleXY.Net are not going to give up until we do.
