FX has reupped its Denis Leary firehouse drama “Rescue Me” for a sixth season.
The cable net ordered 18 additional episodes of the series, which kicks off its fifth campaign April 7 at 10 p.m.[...]
“Rescue Me,” which comes from Sony Pictures TV, DreamWorks TV and Leary’s Apostle shingle, was one of FX’s top-rated series when season four culminated in September 2007: The show averaged a cumed audience of 3.2 million adults 18-49 and 4.8 million total viewers with its four weekly runs combined.

So this marks the sixth season in which I’ll say:
“That Rescue Me looks really good. I like Denis Leary. I really should get around to watching it…why haven’t I watched it yet again?”
Absolutely love Rescue Me and i’m dying without it for the last 17 months. But I will be rewarded with 22 weeks in a row of new shows starting in April and now another season after this one on the horizon. Great stories, great acting, funny, sad, serious and everything you want from a show.
Good news…I think. Season 5 was bad, but I have been enjoying the little mini-episodes they posted on Hulu.
Love Denis Leary. Love Rescue Me.
Looking forward to April 7th….especially getting 22 episodes.
