Did Lie to Me like…re-premiere?
It was a time slot premiere…
FOX is very safe. They only have 4 shows to cancel (Terminator, Prison Break, King of the Hill and Dollhouse).
Unless they are losing a lot of money, they really shouldn’t cancel TSCC, and I would definitely argue that Terminator: Salvation would create lots of ratings for TSCC itself in a third season. It’s not as far-fetched as people think. After the T4 movie, people will be looking for anything closely related to Terminator franchise.
Jonathan, when a show is getting 1.2 in the demo, they are losing money.
But how do you know they are directly losing money?
Maybe advertisers pay less now because of the recession and the 1.2 in demo, makes enough money. I think it is a relative number not absolute. If they can have shows with higher than 1.2 in demo and find more advertisers, better advertisers, then they cancel those shows, but what if they can’t find better higher paying advertisers?
Regardless, a show is an investment. Especially with T4 coming up, more and more people everyday, just by hearing that T4 is coming out in May, are tuning into watch TSCC just out of curiosity for the franchise.
Jonathan, but “more and more people everyday” are *not* tuning in, and that’s the problem.
Jonathan, the way advertising works is generally CPM (cost per thousand). So if advertisers are paying a lower CPM, getting 1.2 in the demo means they are paying EVEN LESS. This is not all relative. 1.2 for an hour long scripted show on a broadcast network means they are losing money.
Maybe if they used my name on the show more often [hint: they do Friday!], they’d get more viewers. LOL
