The return of Rescue Me on Tuesday night drew very solid numbers for FX, averaging 2.3 million viewers overall and 1.5 million adults 18-49, according to a report from James Hibberd.
Although that’s down from its prior averages, that still has to be good news for FX after the show’s 18 month hiatus. It is well within the range of viewers that Nip Tuck averaged in its most recent season, which earlier in the week I suggested should be the benchmark for measuring Rescue Me’s ratings performance.
Hibberd notes that the encore episode drew another 914,000. That’s better than most of the first-airings of Damages drew. In its season finale on FX last week, the initial airing of Damages averaged 1.05 million viewers.

This show is horrible!
Hell Rescue me kicks ass. Glad to see good numbers for the best show on FX
I missed the episode the other night but I’ll catch it on Friday. Those are pretty good numbers given that the show’s been on hiatus for while and it generally averages about 2 to 3 million viewers a season i believe. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
While the numbers are good and I use to watch the show on a regular basis I was less them impressed with the season premiere.
I gave up on this show following last season. I’m curious though, as to how soon into this season Leary will be seen in his underwear??? During the previous season, one episode could not go by without his chicken legs being shown on TV.
Deadbeat.. it was not on last season. FYI.
FX has gone heavy on promoting this new season.
