Fox, CBS Split Demos, Viewership Wins In First Week of Broadcast Summer

Posted on 02 June 2009 by Bill Gorman

In the first full week of the broadcast television summer (May 25-31), Fox topped the adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 demos and CBS won the adults 25-54 and average viewership titles.

NBC managed third place for viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, but Univision nipped ahead to place second for adults 18-34 beating all the English broadcasters but Fox. Expect continued relative strength from Univision all summer.

ABC started the summer particularly weakly, finishing fifth in the adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 demos.

Tiny Network Smackdown Update! The tables have been turned and MyNetworkTV beat the CW in every demo we track except adults 18-34 where the two tiny networks tied.

Ha ha ha, yeah. That’s almost sad.
Ah well, that’s one helluva one-trick pony SmackDown! is.
