Please don’t hurt me, Hammer, but…The premiere of MC Hammer’s reality show, Hammertime on A&E averaged a very modest 1.123 million on Sunday night at 10pm. I hate to say it was edged out by a rerun of Cold Case at 1am on a Tuesday morning. But it was.
And despite the fact that it didn’t have a million dollars worth of Google Adsense ads promoting it, a years old That’s So Raven repeat at 11:30 on a Wednesday had (just) over 2 million viewers.
Too legit to quit? Not with these numbers. It wasn’t even among the 15 most-watched shows on A&E. Of course the most-watched show on A&E was Dog The Bounty Hunter (1.9 million), with Intervention (1.84 million) and Obsessed (1.81 million) and of course, CSI Miami reruns doing well. But Hammer was also beaten by a repeat of Criminal Minds (1.518 million), Crime 360, The First 48, Gene Simmons a repeat of Independence Day more CSI Miami reruns and Tattoo Highway.
People apparently confused “can’t touch this” with “don’t touch this.”
I don’t think a lot of people even know this is on.
A & E hasn’t done a very good job advertising this show.
All I ever see advertised is “Obsessed” and “Intervention” and
“Gene Simmons Family Jewels”…

I saw advertisement everywhere on the news (that flash mob of people dancing in gold lamee parachute pants) and on the radio (he did an appearance on a Philadelphia radio morning show. I assume he did others in other cities.) So, I was fully aware that it existed. Wanting to know about the inner workings of a washed up old broke 90’s flash in the pan is another thing. I had no interest, so I did not watch. Obviously, not many people had interest.

The best time to lanch this show would have been shortly after his appearance on the VH1 Surreal Life show not now years after.
Ive always defended this guy, throughout the years. Had no idea he had a show. Anybody know if its any good?
This show was promoted heavily on soft rock stations with 25-54 demographic. I agree, MC Hammer peak this year was his Super Bowl commercial. There are just too many names out there now competing for our attention. NEXT. These stations were in NYC.

Last time I heard his name was on the season finale of Leverage where the team takes over one of his ex-mansions. Elliot asks, “Who ripped out the toilets?” Hardison explains the IRS seized the mansion for back taxes. Elliot says, “The IRS doesn’t take toilets!” Hardison says, “They do if they’re solid gold. This used to be McHammer’s. I guess you can touch this – with a SWAT Team and a Federal warrant.”

“That’s So Raven” has over 2 Million Viewers, and over 90 signatures for the movie petition online you can google for it as she beat out MC Hammer’s new Reality series “Hammertime” Raven is getting lots of Support because we her Fans lookout for her…also Raven was the 1st celeb to reinvent the Mohawk in 2006 then she was the 1st celeb to also shave her head in early 2008. Raven’s hair is actually golden brown not blonde, and Raven had dyed her Hair Blonde long before Beyonce ever came out…remember Raven did it 1st….listen to “That Girl” on her latest Album she mentions that in her Lyrics…Raven always gets the newest styles First.
