In it’s first week in DVD release, Season 4 of Showtime’s Weeds debuted at the top of the TV Show DVD sales for the week ending June 7, 2009 with almost $6 million in sales.
The leader for the past 3 weeks, True Blood, fell down the list to #10, but still sold over $4 million in DVDs pushing its 3 week total to over $30 million. Very strong DVD sales for a television show.
The debut of Season 4 of Prison Break put it on the list at #12 with nearly $4 million in sales. 24 still on the list after three weeks, fell to #18 and added $2 million to push its total over $15 million. After only one week in the top 30 at #14, The Closer fell off the list we see (top 30) entirely as did Friday Night Lights which was #30 last week.

I am still thrilled by how well True Blood is doing, and Sunday’s episode was awesome.
Yeah it’s good to see quality shows succeed once in a while. I can’t wait to see how well it did in the ratings Sunday night.
Quality TV in a topic about 24, Prison Break, and the worst season of Weeds?
I checked out the bestseller list on Amazon, and TB is at number one still, presumably from the premiere episode intriguing people enough to get the first season. So I think TB will be charted for at least three more weeks, and will break the one million units barrier.
David, i’ll give you that season 4 was the worst season of Weeds. It certainly was. But I still enjoyed season 4 more than I enjoy most of the other stuff on TV today.
I agree Jesse, but that is just setting the bar incredibly low.
