Cartoon Network’s Total Drama Action Up vs. Last Year, Adult Swim Is #1 For Total Day Adults 18-34 and More

  • Cartoon Network’s on-going animated reality-comedy series, Total Drama Action (Thursday, 9 p.m.), continues to score solid ratings and delivery gains among kid demos.  Compared to the same time period last year, the latest installment produced 19% delivery gains among kids 2-11 (1,376,000), 11% delivery gains among kids 6-11 (1,037,000) and 6% gains among kids 9-14.  Similarly, ratings among kids 2-11 climbed by 17%, ratings among kids 6-11 by 11% and ratings among kids 9-14 by 6%.  The series’ performance helped the Thursday night HAR HAR THARSDAYS comedy block (8-10 p.m.) chart overall delivery growth among kids 2-11 by 13% and kids 6-11 by 2%.

ADULT SWIM

  • Over the first week of July, Adult Swim once more ranked #1 among ad-supported cable networks for total day delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24.  Compared to the same week in 2008, delivery among adults 18-34 was up slightly (+1%) while delivery of men 18-24 grew by 4%.  Adults 18-49 delivery (574,000) also rose by 5%.
  • Adult Swim individual telecasts accounted for 15 of the top 50 telecasts of the week on basic cable among adults 18-34, with four telecasts within the top 10.  Series represented in the list include Family Guy, Robot Chicken and Moral Orel.

    If any ratings for CN’s new reality shows surface, there’s a lot of anxious animation fans who are interested.

    We’re hoping they crash and burn.
