Count me in as another one who spotted Henry as the most likely suspect from the first, simply because 1) Christopher Gorham usually plays nice guys and 2) he looks like Norman Bates ha ha. If the writers had been more clever when they were distracting us with their obvious red herrings (the sherrif! Jimmy! and let’s not forget creepy Madison) they would have set up Henry as an obvious red herring just to throw us off the scent. And if you don’t want spoilers, be like me: I tape stuff before I watch it, too, but always avoid any thread dealing with an episode I haven’t seen. If it’s a season/series finale where some Big Secret Will Be Revealed, I won’t even look at the internet. When the Lost series finale hits, I’ll probably unplug my PC too just to be safe.

I very much enjoyed Harper’s Island and will miss it. I didn’t love the ending, but I didn’t hate it either. I did hear this week about a show coming to ABC that is kinda similar called Happy Town. I watched the trailer on youtube and it could be interesting and a decent replacement. Plus, bonus, it has Amy Acker! She was on Angel, Alias, and Dollhouse.

Robert – you’re awesome!! Thanks for the info (even though the news of Kings cancellation makes me frown)!!

I have been so into Kings. It’s the first show I’ve been excited about in quite awhile. The series is incredibly imaginative and the cast couldn’t be stronger. Some of the writing is admittedly weak but what it lacks in substance it makes up for in style (in my opinion at least). It seems to me that NBC really failed in promoting the show. In fact, it seems like NBC didn’t back Kings at all and that really blows my mind.

I’m really disappointed by NBC. You’d think by now TV watchers everywhere would be tired of the same old mind numbing reality shows, medical dramas and legal snores…but apparently not.

Love Harper’s Island! At last something to watch besides CSI and Law & Order type shows. Wish someone would do more of these mystery mini-series type shows!

Hi Michah,

We know it is canceled for sure for a variety of reasons ranging from it not being renewed or announced as part of NBC’s 2009-2010 schedule to being banished to Saturdays and then delayed until the summer. There were 13 episodes of Kings made and 11 of 13 have aired with the final two episodes currently scheduled to air on 7/18 and 7/25.

GMJH – I agree, NBC didn’t promote the show properly, especially when they brought it back on in June – but do you know if it’s actually going to be canceled? Also, you mentioned the remaining episodes. I’m trying to figure out how I can find how many episodes are remaining. Do you know?

I thought the whole idea of taking Kings off air a few months back was that NBC were confused as to why such a quality HBO like show was bombing in the ratings and to heavily promote the return of the remaining episodes.

NBC then did absolutely nothing to promote the show’s return (I didn’t even realize it was back on the air until I’d missed an episode) and surprise surprise the show dies a death.

Kings may have had extraordinarily low ratings but it will be remembered as a very brave and original piece of TV by millions (unfortunately it’ll probably mean that NBC won’t ever be ‘brave’ again)

I’m not really surprised that CBS, NBC didn’t fair well on Saturday.

I do like Harper’s Island and Kings. And although I missed Harper’s, I’m totally not surprised by this outcome. The show did have some great moments, but those we’re few and far between. If the finale was as bad as everyone says, I probably won’t waste my time watching it. I do have some “fond” memories of the first few episodes that I’d hate to ruin.

I’d like to understand what the future of King’s will be – help? Thoughts, links, anything?? I understand the numbers would indicate that there is no future for Kings…but come on, Dollhouse on FOX got renewed and fairs just as bad as Kings.

AND AirRodeo – Thanks for your kind words. I was wondering why the bus I ride is so short, but now that you’ve explained that I’m retarded, it makes sense. I wonder how I’m going to break the news to my girlfriend…

AND Spoilers totally suck when you don’t want them, so why is everyone freaking out?

Was Harper’s Island Shakesperian. Absolutely not. It wasn’t suppose to be. It was a murder mystery mini-series. For me, it was definitely a “guilty pleasure”. One of my favorite all-time movies is “Scream”. I love horrors and this was like watching a small screen version of the slasher genre. If everyone had completely watched every episode and judged it on what it was suppose be (s slasher mystery), you couldn’t have faulted it. I thoroughly enjoyed and was glad it was aired till the finale. Thank you CBS (it was the only thing I watched on CBS until now…”Big Brother” has returned a/k/a my all-time favorite reality show..

Those with healthy self-esteem and an active social life do not take television this seriously. It’s abnormal. The vast majority of people don’t watch any particular episode of any TV show – not live, not on DVR, not ever. The vast majority of people are not watching any television at all during a particular episode.

You would think a likely shut-in like Saylor would have watched it live in the first place.

I’m glad that NBC has decided to continue to run out the Kings Episodes. I have enjoyed the show. The acting has been generally quite good, the characters are likable, and the stories have been compelling. That being said, I think NBC’s decision to cancel the show made perfect sense: it was clearly very expensive to produce, and it was a show that was only ever going to find a niche audience. If anything, I’m more shocked that NBC ever greenlit the show in the first place given its low upside and high downside. But I’m personally very glad they did.

Having said that, I’ve only ever watched the show on Hulu. I’m sure that NBC would have preferred I watch it on our Chicago NBC affiliate.

Kings is still like watching a PBS British produced show – very stiff. But having King Silas implode and calling his son a faggot in the middle of Davids treason trial when he revealed Silas set David up, was priceless, one of the rare moments when the show came out of its coma. Im suprised NBC actually aired that – it was very polically incorrect.

Im just curious as to how it turns out. Not worth watching live, but still recording it. Harpers Island was boring, didnt watch that. Eli StoneD – never cared for it. Only 2 more Kings episodes, but it will end on a cliffhanger, never to be resolved, from what I hear.

If I went on a British website, I would fully expect to see spoilers for Torchwood, Dr. Who, and other UK shows that already aired there. I would also avoid posting anything about a show they haven’t gotten yet.

But this isn’t a British (or Australian) website, it’s an American one, focused on ratings of American shows on American TV. It’s ridiculous to maintain that we have to avoid talking about a show for 6 months because people in Asia won’t get the episodes until then.

what a crappy ending to harper’s island. i was shocked to find out the 2nd killer…but that ending was horrible. is the fbi that stupid? they told the two that all 3 were dead, but um..they weren’t. i had to find out the end, but it was watching a trainwreck. i felt like HI owes me back 13 hrs of my life.
