USA Network’s New Episodes Return It To Cable Primetime Pinnacle

Posted on 14 July 2009 by Bill Gorman

With USA Network’s top scripted shows returning to new episodes, it cruised ahead of last week’s leader TNT and last week’s #2 Disney Channel, with a prime time average of 3.208 million viewers for the week of July 6-12.

Nickelodeon, as usual, took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.303 million.

Note that we are currently in discussion with Nielsen Media about our use of their data. One element of that discussion is limiting our lists to 20 items. Sorry.

Even FX crushes the CW… shame

  2. Number Cruncher says:

Not entirely sure where to put this because the top 20 cable shows list isn’t up yet but here is an article for the ratings of the most recent Entourage, Hung and True Blood episodes.

Is it possible to say how did TV Land (TVLD) did? Their shift in ratings was starting to get interesting, just when you had to stop publishing it. I guess they are somewhere in the 500-700k range.

  4. Bill Gorman says:

TVLand, primetime 582k, total day 520k

  5. Wild Bill says:

THANKS BILL GORMAN for the tvland ratings, there network is gone to $H!T.
The numbers are showing that too. PEOPLE WANT CLASSIC TV not bull$H!T.
    thanks again sir.

  6. KaiZen says:

Wow. In Prime-time, Cartoon Network ranks 19th out of the top 20, just beating truTV. Guess kids really don’t want to watch live-action on Cartoon Network, eh?

  7. Chuck Collins says:

As godawful as TVLand’s ratings are, why wouldn’t they want to grab The Guiding Light? Last time I checked, 1 million is bigger than half of that.

  8. Christopher says:

Thanks for the TV Land numbers. Roseanne and She’s Got the Look are clearly the laggards there and I can’t fathom why they keep airing Roseanne so much.

  9. phxtopgun says:

I totally agree that TVLAND had been ruined. They started showing a new network here in Phoenix. The Retro Television Network (RTN). They show Dragnet, Adam-12, and Emergency! These are the kind of show TVLAND should be airing. Andy Griffith will always trump Rosanne. Make me the program director of TVLAND and the ratings will soar!
